This is the best software that I have used compared to some others I've briefly tried.
I love the software and the ease of use which it creates.
That changes are made to the software and I am unaware e.g. formatting, new additions to charting or billing.
Pros
That it is user friendly. Its easy to manuever. The video trainings are helpful and keeping track of clients is super easy.

Making the Switch to Therasoft
My experience with Therasoft has been positive across all dimensions, from the follow-ups to questions I've raised to the support staff/onboarding team's commitment to getting their users up to speed as quickly as possible, freeing us up to serve our clients.
Pros
My former EHR vendor recently significantly raised their prices to bring them more in line with other EHR vendors. With this price increase, I had to evaluate them in relation to other vendors charging approximately the same price. While Therasoft is more expensive, the quality of their product is far superior. Specifically, I appreciate how the information within the EHR is organized and displayed on the screen. I like how the treatment plan is very accessible and informs the treatment session note. I like how my custom designed website is an integral part of my EHR. With Therasoft, everything weaves together in a dynamic way, supporting more rigorous charting process that is easier to navigate than my former EHR. Therasoft helps me to better conceptualize my cases.
Cons
Therasoft is a robust program that takes a while to learn. The learning curve is well supported by their transition team and onboarding resources. Therasoft wants you to be their customer for the long-term, and they're willing to go the extra mile with customer service and support to ensure the customer has the answers they need, when they need them.

Tired of submitting tickets for repeat fixes needed for lost clinician signatures & client data
Overall, Therasoft does the job but with greatly anticipated trepidation by our clinicians and trainees that important client information or their signatures will be lost or inaccurate. (the tendency for biopsychosocial to keep filling in check boxes of information not entered by client or clinician).
Unfortunately, our trainees like our clinical approach and training, but word has gotten out on the training circuit about our use of Therasoft, especially its nonintuitive and cumbersome documentation and tendency to lose client information. Many trainees that we had two years ago are surprised that others in their program are still running into similar problems with Therasoft.
Pros
Customizable features, initial person-to-person support around glitches, and helpful creation of forms. It was great to request having our treatment plans populate into our progress notes. A feature that was not initially there when we started with Therasoft. It was also great to be able to incorporate our measures/questionnaires into our biopsychosocial. Ability to limit the number of forms clinicians could access. Ability to incorporate intake screening and new client registration on our website. Ability to schedule and meet with client via laptop or phone.
Cons
It's many simple yet consistent glitches, it's outdated training videos, and customer service that was often limited to submitting multiple tickets for the same thing over and over again and being asked if we cleared our cache. No other EHR has mentioned needing to clear out a cache in order to work properly.
Therasoft isn't a program you can leave alone and feel your workflow is flowing. It's a complex system that requires administrative babysitting.
It is not an intuitive program and has a steep learning curve. We were able to set up a review meeting, and we are hoping we are able to get our recommendations heard and updated, but we will see. We were told that we will be emailed a list of all of our requested updates and concerns but haven't received it yet. I'm really anticipating that they will require me to submit a ticket for each of 20+ requests, lol. I will keep you posted.

Amazing resource for counselors
My experience with Therasoft has been excellent. The scheduling, medical records and billing components are reliable, meet the requirements of my payors and are easy to use. I am thrilled this year to have collected more in revenue, despite taking a month sabbatical. This outcome I believe, is solely due to the hard work of my biller with Therasoft who stays on top of my claims, denials and deductibles. It gives me peace of mind to know that the Therasoft team is coordinating my billing.
Pros
I am most appreciative of the billing services that are a part of this software. Having Therasoft handle this complex and sometimes stressful portion of my business is a huge help. It allows me to focus on caring for my clients and growing my business and not trying to navigate the maze of the insurance world.
Cons
It took be some time to adjust to the calendar based system rather than being able to click on a client's name and find everything related to them in one place.

Unfair charges for record keeping.
Software was find; the customer service was horrible. I was overcharged for their billing service and since leaving Therasoft am being charged $200.00 per year to have access to all my notes on patients.
Pros
Was happy with product; very unhappy with support.
Cons
When you leave Therasoft you cannot get a copy of your records, with a fee, of course. Instead if you want access to your files, which in my case is 7-10 years, you MUST PAY THEM $200.00 A YEAR!. No other ehr medical records hold a subscriber hostage in order to get access to files and comply with law of mandatory keeping records for 7-10 years. This is outrageous in that you are trapped into paying this ongoing fee.

Therasoft and Web Site Review
It was wonderful. I was worried about creating a site and linking it to an EHR. The web developers were highly responsive and answered all questions I had. The developers along with my account manager made a stressful process much easier.
Pros
It’s easy to use and the tutorials that are online are very helpful. I appreciated that the team conducted a video and call for the setup and questions.
Cons
Initially It didn’t seem like it would be easy to navigate. After my call I had a much easier time.

The absolute best Mental Health EHR on the market!
Overall, I just love Therasoft Online. They have streamlined, organized, and enabled me to complete and monitor clinical and administrative tasks with efficiency and ease. This has allowed me to focus and spend more time on what I love and do best....provide therapy to some really awesome people.
Pros
I have been using Therasoft Online for the past 8 years. I am long overdue in giving them my two thumbs up. I can not begin to express how pleased I am with this software. Therasoft Online offers a big product to the small private practitioner. It is a high-end software at an affordable price. Therasoft Online is comprehensive in terms the numerous features that it offers (i.e., registering, scheduling, assessing, documenting, storing, billing, reporting, sending auto-reminders, integrating social media/web marketing, and incorporating HIPPA compliant email, apps, and teletherapy, to name a few). Therasoft Online keeps my practice current and enables me to offer my clients state-of-the art technology to enhance their experience. I think one of the things that I love the most about Therasoft Online is the fact that my practice has been able to change and grow over the years...and I've never needed to change my EHR system. I started as a sole practitioner in Texas, expanded my practice to the US Virgin Islands, and grew into a group practice. Therasoft Online made all of my transitions seamless. From support team, I have always received excellent and competent service. It actually feels as if we are part of the same team. I have recommended Therasoft Online to ALL of my colleagues...it's the least I can do for a company that has been more than good to me. They have my highest recommendation.

I really love the apps, but would like more functionality and integration. I am unable to see my client's secure messages and I can not see appointments confirmed by the client.

Beware of Server Issues
I can not recommend this EHR in good conscience. Our overall experience was terrible. The support is nonexistent and they take no responsibility for server failure that causes the loss of important data.

I have had a great experience with Therasoft and highly recommend this program to any mental health practice!
Pros
Therasoft is an easy program to learn and use. It meets the needs of my moderate sized group practice while remaining affordable. Customer support is top notch. We can contact them by telephone or email and any questions we have are answered quickly.
Cons
There is a large selection of reports. At times, it can be a little confusing figuring out how to get the information I need. However, the costumer support team is always available to assist with this. They also provide a large number of webinars and training opportunities that would make the process easier (I have not had the opportunity to view these yet).

We have been using Therasoft since 2012, it works well for our practice.
It takes care of all the requirements to keep client notes for the state of Texas. It also handles a number of insurance companies and their required filing and payments.
Pros
It has consistently improved over the years. This is important because the electronic environment has changed as well. With changes in electronics and in state laws, Therasoft has maintained the ability to change with the environment.
Cons
Sometimes the system runs rather slow. I would blame my WiFi system, but this is a true statement for more than one WiFi system. But overall, it is an excellent program.

The reason Therasoft does not send out the code is because then it is not secure, if someone was to get into the email then they would have access to the information so this is why you have to give them the code separately.
Did you know that you can have the client sign into the portal and fill it out as well?
Call the support team (888)-435-8203 and they can walk you through this process as well.
The portal allows them to do the assessment through a secure portal that is compliant for security.

Send Out Telemental Health Informed Consent
Therasoft is a company that stands behind their product. They are innovative and always improving their product and interface with their clients.
Pros
I can do everything I need in one place for electronic records, insurance, client notes and billing.
Cons
I have been doing telemental health with them for over six months. There have been glitches throughout for me. Those are finally repaired and the software and portal work beautifully now.

Not Happy Anymore

Therasoft used to be so great. The customer service was amazing. I couldn't say enough positive things about them but that has all changed. When you call, you get an answering service and someone always needs to call back. In a busy therapy office it's not always easy to take the call when they call. I asked about an issue that I was having several months ago and it never got resolved as a result the employee I wanted to hire got another job. I cannot hire someone until that issue is fixed. Very very disappointed in how things have changed.

Excellent product, excellent customer service
Pros
The product is very user friendly. The price point is excellent. Customer service has always been extremely accommodating - knowledgeable, friendly, and go above-and-beyond what would be expected.
Cons
Our only complaint has been the inability to add in customized forms such as in-take, treatment forms, etc.

Ongoing problems
My overall experience is one where I would tell everyone to get Therasoft and now I don't. Too many problems with video use, server down, program not running like it is suppose too. Now its costing me money as I have to reschedule or lose clients.
Pros
The functions are great. I also love how many of the functions help me with my business. I use the website, email, video and all the functions.
Cons
Its no longer reliable and I can't trust that it will work when its suppose too. Therasoft has been causing me more and more issues with its lack of reliability.

Pros
What I like most about this software is the attendance and progress notes format. I also like some of the assessment templates. I like the electronic signatures and the fact that it is tied to billing
Cons
I love the online sessions function but the picture quality for the provider is very bad. Also, the group notes are difficult. I used to use the group tab but then it does not show on the regular attendance and progress notes tabs. There must be a way that groups can also be on normal calendar and attendance.

Decent Product

Notes, calendar, and assessments- easy to use. There is an option to confirm attendance, write note, and submit billing within one screen.
Cons
Difficult to set up billing, not easy to resolve issues or track. It is also difficult to submit secondary claims.

I understand the issue with transmission of secondary is because of the process of how secondary can be billed, the insurance company however changes the claim number when the first claim goes through so they require a mailed hcfa to the secondary. Also I believe that you have some issues with Medicare that can be resolved with some changes to how your credentialed. We know have a credentialing department that can help you with these changes if you are interested.

Amazing Company!

I've been using Therasoft for my business for seven years now, and I'm very pleased.
Pros
I like that it does everything all in one place-- scheduling, billing, documenting... I also like that it is all online so I can access it from anywhere.
Cons
Sometimes it runs a bit slow for me when I'm in a hurry. These periods of it running slow don't seem to last long though.

Great customer support, innovative

There is so much that I can do on it, that I still haven't learned all of its capabilities. The reports area is confusing to me. I don't know which one does what.
