A Vast Improvewment!
We switched over from an older POS to Korona almost 5 years ago. The system is great! Fast, efficient, customizable, and has great reporting tools as well! We use it everyday, with only minor issues here and there. A quick call to the support staff will always fix it, they are are very friendly and based in the USA!
Pros
Korona revolutionized how we did business in our Museum gift shop. The retail/inventory systems are top notch and far and away better than what we were using. The system is easy to use, and the support staff is super helpful.
Cons
The system software is originally from Germany, so there was a slight learning curve trying to figure out POS button sequences. It's the most efficient, but it takes some getting used to. There are also a lot of features, which is a plus, but they aren't all explained very well without multiple emails/calls with the support team.

The POS that keeps getting worse
Unbelievable how each SW rev takes away functionality! For example, our retail employees search Products constantly to check stock and store prices. While that never came up on the home screen under Products, it used to be one click. They changed THAT button to show whether items were Listed (who cares?) and now when you click 3 different screens to get to the stock levels, it shows ON THE SCREEN what our buy prices are (to the cashier and customer at the counter). But it does NOT show the sales price, you have to Go Back 3 times, then double-click the product to EDIT it, and scroll down, and expand a box, to see the price we sell if for. Who dreams this stuff up? I could give dozens of similar examples of features they've broken in the past 6 years. When you ask them, they just clam up and get defensive, refuse to revert any of this nonsense. Moreover, they hold hostage critical fields of data that cannot be exported, raising cost of switching which we have been keen to do.

Terrific culture at Korona.
The people are honest and helpful while always being responsive and prompt. Unlike our last POS provider, they want our business to be enhanced by their product.
Pros
The people that work there are TERRIFIC. The system is almost fully customizable, and the equipment is solid.
Cons
It is complex, you have to be committed to getting the most out of the system. The terminology is German in English so there is a constant stop and think for the first few months. We are 5 months in and just getting routinely used to things like “price” means “cost” and “product code” means “UPC code” while “item code” means “product code”. In addition, the terminology changes inside of there system depending on what your doing. Makes it harder for terminology to stick .

Bevly was a train wreck. Automatic data feeds from suppliers had inaccurate product data. They would not allow us to turn the data feeds off. It was like swatting flies in a landfill. We finally had to just jump off the train. Incidentally, we are saving quite a lot of $$$$ with this switch.Reasons for Switching to KORONA POS

Korona POS Review
We are still working on learning all the features available on this system, but having been in banking for over 23 years and working in IT for 7 of those years, I know without doubt this is the BEST system available on the market!
Pros
We have looked at approximately 4 other POS systems and Korona is by far, our favorite system. For the price, they offer many more features than any of the top three POS systems we reviewed.
Cons
Because of all its features, it takes more time to learn all the functions that are available to the user.

Its very versatile, modify it they way it works best for your business.
Cons
Learning it all beyond the basics, but thats where their customer service comes to play. They are FANTASTIC and patient.

Pros
Great overall POS and management system. Easy and fast to set up, simple to use, and highly scalable. A customizable dashboard complements robust reporting on all operational details. Modular packages allow for additional functions as needed.

Great Customer Support
I recently spent two days trying to trouble shoot issues with our internet system and trying to get the internet side of things set up correctly. In order to prove to our internet provider it was due to internet system set up issues, the internet provider kept having me to make changes and do tests and then the system would go down, etc... Korona was very patient, immediate to respond, and effective with their responses. They hung in there with me until I could get a static IP address assigned and pushed through to our modem that would work with our credit card machine (which did not come from Korona) that is integrated with the Korona system.
Pros
The customer support is very quick to respond and effective.
Cons
I don't really have any cons yet. Like any system, it takes time to learn it. If I ever had try to do something specific and had troubles figuring it out on my own, I just emailed support and they were very specific with their help and instructions. They never left me floundering.

Great Product and Value
We need to check out customers, track finances and employees, and need to do so with a back-office feature. Korona does all of this.

100% recommended for bakeries
Best customer service of all times. I worked with many POS systems as an employee and know the frustration you sometimes experience. Now as a employer I value perfect customer service even more.
Korona is very easy to set up and simple to use. For my store an absolute must-have.
Pros
I'm new to the baking business and was very surprised how super simple it was to set up the POS system. Great video explanation through Korona website and absolutely wonderful customer service in case of any questions!
Cons
Korona doesn't integrate with Moneris (yet) which makes it a little more inconvenient especially on a busy day.

Day to day management and business intelligence
Pros
Support is outstanding. They keep adding features. It is easy to use. The back office has a lot of tools to help understand the business and customizing the UI is fairly simple.
Cons
Rental inventory management is immature. Forces me to deal with 2 platforms which is unfortunate. Some of the queries are a bit weak in my opinion. I sometimes want to do AND operations to find products and it will do OR instead. Not as useful as it could be.

We've never had any major issues, and any problem we have had are usually taken care of fairly...
Pros
The inventory tracking, ease of adding products, being able to track how fast things sell, which hours are busiest.
Cons
It's changed how the shelf labels appear when they are printed, now the only choices are to have the price large enough to read or the product name big enough to read. It used to be both.

Consolidated, precise and easily accessible information. The evaluations give me a great overview while the specifics keep the details focused an accurate.
Cons
Does not adapt well to a Macintosh, some things seem deeply embedded and take a while to figure out where they are and how to use then.

Good software and easy to larn
Pros
easy to learn and set up. The software lest you do reports at the end of the month or quarterly. They are easy to do just need a rep to walk you thru it.
Cons
some support reps need better customer services others are great....reports are easy to do and you can play around with the system,,,,you may need an accountant to help you read the reports

Flexible, Scalable, and Integrated POS
Pros
I love that this software is flexible enough to conform to any business workflow. Most of the popular cloud based point of sale solutions that I have tried are very rigid in their ability to adapt to your needs. It is cloud based so we have been able to integrate it with our Digital Signage solutions for automatic menu updates from Korona's inventory management tool.
All features that I have requested or changes I have requested have been integrated into their regular release cycle. This is great because I get to help dictate the features and functions I need. This is something I have never experienced from a cloud POS vendor.
Cons
So far, so good! The parent company is based in Germany but they have a great support team based here in the USA as well.

Party Store/ Customer support
My husband and I always wanted to open up a small business, it had always been a dream of ours. Therefore we opened up a small party store in our hometown. We knew nothing about business let alone what a POS solution was. A family friend recommended Korona, we signed up for the free trial to give it a try. Both my husband and I are the least tech savvy individuals you will ever meet. But navigating through the terminal is incredibly easy, Jake walked us through how to use the terminal and software and made is so simple for these two old old folks. A lot of the times we don't know how check inventory on certain items. When this happened all we had do is call technical support and they were always there. They are very helpful and quick to respond either by email or phone. They should be sick of my husband and me by now, but they are always so kind and responsive
