Multi-Ownership Management Features

Pros

This software has a the unique ability to track and run reports for individual units. If you are using Property Management System to rent/lease multiple units that have different ownership structures this is great software to do so.
Great value for any small-mid size property that is looking to update old software.

Cons

Up-front costs are much lower than other PMS for hotels but this system requires you to host on your server. There was no cloud options for running the software (This may have changed since we put this system in place in a hotel setting in 2011 and used it until 2013).

Response from Resort Data Processing

As of 2013 we do offer cloud solutions as well as great value compared to other cloud based PMS systems.

RDPWin software review

The overall experience has been positive. The sales people are pleasant, honest and capable. We realize PMS software is a necessity in the lodging industry and RDPWin does everything we need it to do. Never have had a crash, glitch or hiccup when looking strictly at RDPWin. Integrating with POS systems is a different story. That has not been a positive experience.

Pros

RDPWin has helped our lodging facility track overall performance more efficiently than before. Their reports (via Crystal Reports) are clear and concise and provide management with up-to-date statistics needed in the industry. RDPWin is fairly easy to use. The software is reliable and functions properly.

Cons

The software is dated, needs a fresh, modern look and should move to integrating cloud-based POS systems to adapt to today's market. RDPWin should think about making an all-in-one system that incorporates a POS (like Oracle) to help lodging facilities as a whole. Tech support could be more willing to please the consumer.

It is okay, does what we need

It is easy to learn and maintain

Pros

It has multi-functionality for guests, it has ease of use when checking guests in and out. The in-house stats screen and the availability screen are very helpful tools. The amount of reports that can be created for the individual properties is also a GREAT feature of this system. The emails for "Tip of The Day" are awesome!! I have learned so much through these helpful emails!!

Cons

Too many options , it has a lot of glitches. You cannot add a guest name . To add a guest you have to create a reservation, this can be time consuming. Company fields are group fields instead of being separate. When balancing inventory you have to pause the entire system and every department to accomplish this task which in a 211 room hotel is cumbersome.

RDPWIN

Pros

I am impressed with the support team. quick to reply and great to work with. I also like the fact that I can make my own reports in Crystal Reports.

Cons

Some features are limited or I need to purchase an additional module in order to have the advanced functionality I am looking for

A quality product that is easy to use. Great customer service.

Very adaptable and easy to use. Great service.

Pros

The software has a lot of adaptability. There are a variety of features for both small and large properties. A very large selection of reports is standard and they are all customizable. They offer a mobile booking engine that is easy for guests to use. The support has always been excellent and fast.

Cons

More expensive than other options. The billing feature for groups and companies needs to be streamlined and easier to use.

Customer Service Insists on Using MST Instead of Customer's Timezone

Overall, we are glad we switch away from it and now use SMS|Host, even though Springer Miller has awful support.

Pros

It had been used in place out resort for years and it was catered toward ski resorts, which we are.

Cons

I didn't like that any calls to technical support or customer service would involve RDP setting a calendar invite using the timezone for RDP instead of a customer's local timezone for meetings and support calls. There were plenty of times that meetings were missed because everyone is expected to remember that Resort Data Processing does things differently and that their meetings aren't scheduled with the customer's timezone in mind.

GREAT Booking Software

We could not run our resort without RDPWin!

Pros

RDPWin is very easy to learn and easy to use. The software works great and we rarely have issues. It makes booking a breeze.

Cons

RDPWin could use a new look. The interface looks outdated. Also, I do get lots of annoying pop up messages.

old fashion PMS

It was a good experience, though it had a long learning curve. The software is not as intuitive as others but does the job that is meant to.

Pros

A lot of options for reporting. Connectivity with third party apps. Customer support follows up to your needs

Cons

Expensive software. Old look for today's standards. No cloud service at least on the version I had to use.

It has a lot of features, almost too many that could have been avoided or been featured in...

Pros

The ability to sort and export lists easily. The customizability is perfect. especially when it comes to something as easy as lists

Cons

The System is slow and has too many tabs. I think that having so many tabs slows down the features and cause things totake longer. Lots of reports are duplicated

It is very user friendly. I like all of it features. Great for camp and conference centers.

Cons

Honestly, there was not anything I DoD not like about it. I was sad when my company switched to Camp Brain.

RDP is pretty easy to navigate.

Pros

I love how simple it is to use. Very easy to train new FD agents on. The tape chart is a great feature.

Cons

Tracking who touches what in a reservation. Not the biggest fan of the Crystal Reports, however I could use more experience in this area and then my opinion could change.

Solid Product

I've been using RDP for approx 13 years and it's generally a solid, reliable platform. It's easy to us and offers comprehensive reporting and custom reporting should you require some speific data. Support is always helpful, even if they cannot immediately fix the problem. I've come to know a few of the team and they're really nice folks. I'd recommend RDP.

Pros

Functionality. Reporting. Reliability. Support

Cons

Upgrading new features sometimes takes a while. New features come with extra costs, don't automatically get them.

Go deep

Very good. It does a lot and since it’s been around awhile - incorporates many many of the business rules needed fir our resort. And there Lots more there that can be used, and will - as time permits.

Some more recent software we’ve used - is simpler to get up and running with less time investment - but it doesn’t let you go too far.

Pros

If you learn how how and commit the time to it - everything is open to configuration and customization.

Cons

Non-active history can be annoying and cumbersome

Great program

I have used RDPWin for over 10 years, with two different companies, both of which sell timeshare and have multiple properties. RDP fits the bill for us with multi locations and different types of inventory - regular hotel/timeshare and fractional

Pros

The fractional and timeshare components. If you have multi purpose inventory, it is excellent to use.

Cons

Crystal reports - it is hard to create a custom report unless you are familiar with Crystal reporting

Powerful tool with archaic platform based handicaps vs. newer modern equivalents.

Growth

Pros

Works very well in and individual condo ownership environment with regards to reservations, sales, and operations.

Cons

Reporting is un-modern and difficult for non Crystal report gurus. RDP-centric parameters only known to RDP support make adaptability or customization very difficult for end users in an analytical and data based industry.

I find it very useful..but it is the only hotel software I have experience with

Pros

it is user friendly. And the tech support is very responsive. The variety or stock reports is very good for accounting purposes

Cons

setting up rate plans and syncing with wholesalers etc can be confusing. The Owner system does allow for enough space to include more than one email address when emailing statements to owners.

Cons

I receive daily glitches and error messages, the system freezes constantly. Technology support has been working on this issue for months now with no avail.

Worked for us!

They were a good fit for a while. Their support was very responsive.

Pros

We were an independent hotel for 17 years and we used Rdp for the last 8 years. They are responsive and a good fit for an independent property.

Cons

We needed a better online presence. They did not merge with Best Western when we decided to become members. We had to switch.

Short of perfect, but it does the job

Fix the glitches and make your customer support easier on the caller, we're all busy running hotels here!

Pros

I liked the way the interface looks, it's very appealing. It's easily navigated and has a pleasant layout.

Cons

The glitches. Like others that worked with me when I used this system, I hated the persistent glitches, primarily between RDP and any POS software. Manually entering tickets onto reservations really gets old.

Easy to learn, hard to master. Top notch fundamentals, advanced skills require training.

Pros

It's very simple to get into a routine with RDP. Once you understand the basics, RDP's straightforward nature helps your fundamental yet crucial tasks become second nature.

Cons

While RDP does well generally speaking, it's the learning of advanced techniques that is difficult. When a situation that is atypical arises, it takes us more time than we feel it should to arrive to a solution. Oftentimes we must contact RDP's support to learn how we should handle a specific situation, and because there are an infinite number of different scenarios, it gives us hardship whenever the well-paved road gets a little bumpy.

Really Happy with RDP!

Pros

RDP has been a great product for us! I have been using RDP for all 11 years I have been at the property, and it is a very user-friendly system to pick up and learn. The support team is always great in answering my questions and helping fix issues that pop up.

Cons

My only complaint is that it is sometimes hard to get a hold of the salesforce. I do realize the sales team is small, but emails and phone calls can go unanswered for days and sometimes weeks. Also, like some of the other reviews, sometimes a quick phone call into support is all that is needed, and it still means creating an internet ticket. They are great about responding to work tickets, though.

Great System, meets our needs

Pros

It has a large menu of features, which is important to us, as we have a variety of properties. The system is easy to use and easy to train on. Best of all, it has proven to be reliable RDP support has been very good and managed to address all of our issues, few though they have been, with a single phone call.

Cons

Reporting could be easier. Crystal is way too complicated, and the stock reports do not cover some of the things we need. Support should be open 24/7, sometimes only a phone call will do.
