Pros

The straightforward user interface, accurate PDF-Word conversions & most importantly - the possword-unlocking capability. Recently, I received an auto-generated authentication report from a thrid party firm (which our company deals directly with) that required a password that wasn't supplied with the report file. SodaPDF was rather quick to unlock the file & save the day. I'm sure a similar circumstance is bound to occur & so I'll keep on using the software.

I'm genuinely unable to think of any problem or inconvenience I've had with the software. It's just great.

It was difficult to find software that has merging and conversion features. When I first tried Soda PDF I had a limited edition free forever plan. Highly helpful to find out if it was going to work for what I needed. Once I learned how easy it was, I purchased the standard software plan.

Merging, Converting, Deleting pages (that have been updated and new ones added). I've created two books and two decks of cards for publishing for clients using this tool ''after'' the documents were ready to export to PDF.

An improvement I would like to see is the update between plans.

For example, I purchased the standard plan after using the free forever plan. When I updated I ended up with both versions (and need to keep both), but, sometimes I'm in the middle of working on something and I get an error saying "Your plan does not include this feature, Update now ..." and the automation tries to sell me a plan I already own (but have not remembered a couple of times thought my plan had expired).

It would be helpful if the VERSION of the plan is integrated for each customer using the software.

CON: There does not seem to be a customer dashboard where I could see what products I have purchased and when they are due to renew. The problem with this is now I'm back on the free forever version, my standard service expired, but I didn't realize it until I was in the midst of working on a document.

Reasons for Switching to Soda PDF

I selected Soda PDF because it is less expensive than Adobe DC, has the same features, and Soda PDF has been approved by Microsoft (I use windows 10 - needed to make sure I have compatible software). They are "Silver Microsoft Partners" as seen on the Microsoft website.

This was the best alternative to Acrobat for years. Fully featured and fairly priced, but then they turned it into an online version only (360). Trying to copy Office 360, which is also unappealing to many users.

Yeah. I'd like them to bring back the desktop version. Why do I need to be online to view and edit PDF documents? And if I'm on a slow connection, then this product is also painfully slow by association. Now I have to search for a competing PDF editor.

The pdf editing feature is good and has lot of options for choosing. It also have the electronic signature option which can be used in official documents.the features like append/merge, file sharing etc saves a lot of time in document management.

The file sharing limit can be improved and interface can be changed to simpler. Apart from that there are no issues

The rate at which files are converted without any error or mixing the files. Also the theme is so simple that any new user can understand the features easily.

Early editions were easy to use pdf generation and editing tools that would occasionally crash, but the ease of use compared to Adobe PDF made Soda a superior option.

After updating to Soda 12, it became impossible to use the software because Avast recognized the adware within the program as malware. It has been a year going back and forth with Customer Service and though they respond with instructions to remove all references of the program, disable Avast and then reinstall, nothing has worker. I even tried to go back to Soda 8, but still Avast detects the adware and it blocks the program. I cannot recommend this product based on my experience

There is nothing about this software that I like. It only works about half the time. I have requested a refund but no one will get back to me. Customer service is impossible to contact. Their "chat" doesn't work. I would never recommend this product to anyone.

I was using soda 9. It was a bit clunky but served my purpose for a lower price than an adobe subscription

I bought a perpetual use license to use soda 9 forever for one purchase price. They have now changed their pricing structure to a monthly subscription. As I updated my computer I had to download the free version and then convert to my subscription. They (soda) have made it progressively harder to use my bought and paid for perpetual subscription. My hard drive died so I had to download the free version and switch to my subscription. Suddenly that seemed impossible to do. I have always been able to log onto their site and see my perpetual subscription. I could do that this morning but after trying to apply my subscription to the software I got an email saying I canceled my own subscription and my log in no longer works. So in essence they just canceled me, my subscription and even my log in. Their site now says my user name is no longer recognized by their system.

It's easy to use with little to no formal training -- very intuitive. I like that it converts documents TO PDF, PDF to MSWord or other types of files, and lets me upload a document for PDF filler access. I think forms are more professional when they're typed instead of being handwritten -- cleaner and neater for sure! We use SODA to upload forms sent to us, then fill in via the PDF filler. I love how easy SODA is to use via Mac/PC, tablets, and phones. Even when my staff and I are outside the office -- at home or on the road -- we can access SODA to ensure our work continues seamlessly. PDFs created can be saved to the Cloud, Desktop, or even e-mailed. I love this software/app!

Cons

My only small complaint is that it can be hard to locate a file once it's complete. That's likely on me instead of SODA. We downloaded the software/app, and have been learning as we go. Perhaps some training on our part would make archiving easier.

Didn't really like the overall buying experience. We've got a limited-time offer to upgrade from a free trial. The price was supposedly around $46 for a Pro version (1-year subscription), but then we were shocked to see we were charged almost the double amount - $85. It appears they included a bunch of spam products in this subscription, but it was not really clearly presented to us, end-users. Also, we didn't get the Mastercard 3Dsecure confirmation code, so that's a major security concern.

The Price and usability are really good.

Good until THEY crashed their server. When that happens you are screwed as the product fails to function. Similarly, if your internet is down or if you are remote without internet access, you are screwed again as the product does not work.

I use the software to print invoices and shipping labels. The quality of the prints is terrible, so I opened a support ticket but never got a response.
I then learned that the "full purchase price" is not an entire purchase but rather a subscription that automatically renews.

Version 12 is horrible, total redone not working friendly. After scanning a page and attaching it to an email, i open to review and i get an error message that reads "The system cannot find the file specified" I never had that issue before. I've tried contacting service and i never heard back from anyone

I open the program and it keeps telling I either only have the free version or I am not eligible

I am only trying to insert a page into a PDF. Any free program would do that but I now find a $100+ annual subscription on my account

To be honest, I have been looking to delete this program because it does not deliver what you say. I forgot and that is my mistake but I honestly wish you would supply some information about what I do receive from you product

I needed software to allow me to protect PDF files to prevent opening by an unintended party. I was able to add just the security module .
It is also a plus that it includes a PDF print device, especially since I am still using Windows 7.

Actually there are a few things.
1) It does not remember the directory used for new output files.
2) Highlighting is not included with the FREE functionality. It is with Acrobat Reader.
3) The first time output is directed to the PDF printer, the software is very slow to load.

Soda PDF os a jack of all trades. Its contains all the tools you need in reading, creating and editing PDFs. It is well integrated into programs we use daily like the microsoft office 365. Creating a pdf is as easy as printing your document as pdf.

The initial 30 day trial would not be enough for your needs. Purchase is necessary but there is nothing that you would not like about this program.
