With Smartsheet, you can easily create and manage projects, track progress, and collaborate with team members in real-time. One of the most powerful features of Smartsheet is its critical path highlighting feature. It makes it much easier for you to notice any issues early and try to sort them out. Smartsheet is an online tool, so clients, you, and your team members can use Smartsheet from any location and at any time.

Cons

Unfortunately, in Gantt chart view, there are limited possibilities to customize the task dependencies. Availability features of allocating various resources do not incorporate part-time availability well enough.

Pros

Switching to this project management software was simply painless! Easily coverts workflow request forms & workflow audimations. Best feature was probably the free trial. By the time our free trial ended we had really become familiar with the software & had really started to depend on it. So purchasing the software was a no-brainer.

Cons

The thing that I am most concerned about is the lack of security built into this software. I also found that after signing up for the free trial I received a lot of spam emails from smartsheet. I didn't want to block them because I was very interested in purchasing the product.

It had basic project management tools that allowed different team members to provide updates on tasks.

It has so much less functionality that other project management tools such as Asana or Trello. It's worth mentioning our team was using the free plan with only the manager on the basic plan. But there are other free software out there that do a much better job.

That we didn't use this platform sooner, we continued to use a well known competitor and it was causing inefficiencies we could have resolved by switching to Smartsheet

Smartsheet is very helpful when keeping track of sales and production. It is similar to excel, but offers a lot more. I also enjoy that you can use it on a mobile device.

I loved Smartsheet with its many collaborative features and functions that enable us to gain knowledge and maintain continuity of support. I always find it easy to achieve continuous follow-up and record updates in real time. I loved the ease of creating main and sub-tables and sharing them with colleagues to add more tasks. The interface is amazing, the AI ​​features for generating formulas are great, the approval and documentation management is smooth and enhances transparency. Smartsheet dashboards are very advanced, I loved the ease of customization and linking them to multiple data sources to display metrics in an organized manner.

Cons

Notifications may be interrupted sometimes, and appear all at once. It is not a problem, but it may delay the start of some necessary procedures.

Smartsheet streamlines business processes by automating major procedures such as resource management, product management, time & expense tracking, project and portfolio management.

Unlike other PPM tools, Smartsheet have poor UI and outdated dashboard mainly on on-premise software.

Fairly intuitive UI and UX. I was brand new to Smartsheet in September 2023 when I joined a department that heavily utilized the tool. I took some of the self-paced trainings (videos) but found that if you are just using it for the basics you can just click around and/or Google your way through the vast majority of it. Overall, I've been a use for 1+ year and like the tool.

I also like that my clients (many of whom do not have a Smartsheet license) can still utilize/access the workspaces I create.

Cons

No auto-save?! All the time I add a new row, make updates, etc. and forget to hit the little save button. And it does not save any of the work, it just disappears like I never did it! There is a little banner that pops-up after 10 mins and says something like "It's been 10 minutes since you saved your work" But often the work I'm doing doesn't take a full 10 mins.

This is so annoying and seems like a simple, standard feature. I sincerely hope it's on their road-map as Google Docs has had this capability for years.

Great for data entry and joint documents. Platform allows people to collarborate in real time, with email notification to notify you of any comments or tags.

Pretty boring platform, I find the form functions are not user friendly for mobile users. And I do find it to glitch out quite a bit or go down.

Smartsheet is a great hub for information storage and group collaboration. I like that it's basically an excel sheet where you can attach documents and communicate with others across your business. I also especially like the automation feature which streamlines processes.

There are some additional features that I wish Smartsheet had. For example, I wish you could filter by "This Month". I also wish it could integrate with Outlook a little better.

Smartsheet offers a wide range of templates that cater to various business needs. It has improved my organizational skills, helped me meet important deadlines, and kept me accountable for tasks that need follow-up. Moreover, it allows me to work even when I'm unable to connect to the private Wi-Fi required by some systems. With Smartsheet, I can access all the information I need without relying on my EHR. It also provides the flexibility to work remotely, whether from a coffee shop or outside on my PC.

Configuring Smartsheet to leverage its full potential can be challenging, and I recognize that I'm not using it to its fullest. I would prefer more detailed explanations over numerous YouTube videos on how to utilize each template. An in-built Smartsheet guide for maximizing integrations would be helpful, avoiding the need for external instructions. While short videos may highlight features, they often fail to show effective integration. The cost of attending the conference is exorbitant. Many colleagues who considered attending were deterred by the conference fees alone, not to mention additional expenses for flights and stay. As someone who frequents conferences, I find the cost prohibitive without the incentive of college credits or certification, particularly for individuals not sponsored by corporations.

A powerful platform with excellent organizational features. I particularly like the ability to create timelines and easily switch between task and Gantt views. creating reports using filters and specific criteria is super helpful in seeing what employees are spending their time on and for getting prompt feedback about projects.

Cons

I wish I could sort by more than 3 criteria. Some reports I've made need one or two more levels of sorting or filtering than are available to really focus on what the report needs to tell me.

Pros

Familiarity to other standard office products such as MS Office, ease of use and adaptability based on our project needs. The overall feel is familiar to most as it uses standard business software looks in many key areas but has a large variety of options to suit your specific needs.

There were some limitations in the spreadsheet look and functionality adjustments.

I've worked on Smartsheet for many years and have always said it's like Excel but on steroids! My favorite part of Smartsheet is the automation alerts we can create.

That you can't have multiple font colors in one cell. Sometimes the data we enter into a cell needs to have a specific font color which Smartsheet does offer. However, it doesn't allow us to have 2 different font colors in the same cell like Excel has. It would be great to have this feature!

Easy to use with great collaboration features that allow for across team and client communication so everyone stays up to date on schedules or metrics.

I think the sheets and schedule features are a little more robust than their dashboard. Though all parts have steadily improved over the 5 or 6 years Ive used Smartsheet.

It has a user-friendly interface that combines the familiar look of spreadsheets with powerful project management features. Additionally, its robust collaboration tools, such as real-time updates, commenting, and file sharing, make it easy for teams to work together efficiently.

Though Smartsheet has lot of Pros. There are some Cons too. It has Limited advance features, Performance issue with large data sets, and it is expensive when compared with other applications.

Modular, customisable, fairly rapidly evolving platform. Familiar UI with many common features to Excel / MS products, so very easy to pick up and eventually master. Smartsheet is a bit lego-ish in that you can build more or less anything you want with a mid-level subscription.

The user-populated forums are a really good resource, you'll find plenty of potential and actual answers by simply searching for what you're trying to achieve/fix.

Free users able to collaborate with sheets/reports/dashboards without an account (although not without headaches - see below), which allows for effective collaboration on projects.

Cons

Customer support is hit and (mainly) miss. Getting timely answers to account questions is not a reliable process and effective account management seems to be a service Smartsheet would rather upsell than provide as a standard offering.

Some basic functionality is missing, as verified by a few searches on user forums. That said, Smartsheet do roll out updates fairly regularly which can hit the spot, depending on what you're hoping for.

Being able to share with non-account holder colleagues as 'free users' has been great, albeit the onboarding process can be clunky and confusion prevails with Smartsheet encouraging all new users to request a paid account through the main admin, or creating a free trial account, which then needs downsizing to a 'free user'. This part could be much, much more transparent.

Data security. Smartsheet is particularly shifty about where it stores data, and we never managed to get assurances that all our data could or would be stored in the EU, which is a fundamental requirement.
