Tableau - Powerful but Complicated
Overall I'm impressed with the power of Tableau to analyze massive data sets and present them in a visually appealing manner. I am non-technical, so I did have some trouble in live-connecting to a data source.
Pros
I like how powerful it is in creating dashboards that leverage very large datasets.
Cons
It can be a bit cumbersome for non-technical folks. In particular, I had a challenge connecting my data source (in a live sort of way) to my dashboard.

Tableau for shared dashboards
I've used Tableau for creating dashboards tailored to the unique needs of different teams within the company. Most data sources used by Tableau were SQL Server databases, local Excel files, and Box files. What people used to create locally, in some very elaborated Excel files, was transferred in Tableau, shaped into interactive dashboards showing the important KPIs, visualizations on trends, etc. This way, the same dashboard could be shared to more people, so that each can explore data as per provided filters.
Pros
Tableau it's a powerful tool for data analysis and data visualizations. It provides powerful drill downs and calculations. Also, it can load data from a wide range of data sources (local files, SQL databases, Azure, etc).
Cons
The learning curve is quite steep. Also, it is rather difficult to embed Tableau dashboards into web pages and provide interactive action from the web page level; the Tableau.js library and support is slightly limited.

Pros
Easy to use and intuitive, making it accessible for beginners. It also offers fast connectivity and quick response times when working with databases.

My overall experience with Tableau remain good in terms of gaining a lot of knowledge on creating visualisations, making various types of charts for different types of data dimensions etc. Tableau gave me a start to my journey into data analyst and has enabled me to dive into huge datasets and create useful and meaningful charts on the data according to the requirements and also to improve my visualisations with time. In other words I learnt what type of chart is suitable for what type of data, how to show performance, efficiency as concept and also tableau provides a huge online community, resources and tools for supporting and developing various types of dashboards through tableau community.
Pros

A) Data Visualisation Capabilities - great tool for data visualisation
B) self explanatory and intuitive
C) advanced tools provides
D) huge variety of visualisations can be created
E) ease of using large excel file and Combining them to use for visualisation
F) drag and drop features
G) story
Cons
Does not have much of cons but listing them as much as I know:
A) bit tricky when it come to work with date and time functions
B) some specific charts not available

Essential for project KPIs and management
Pros
Visualisation and ease of automized dashboard creation. It was simple to connect it to other tools and it connected and consolidated everything in one place.
Cons
The inputs had to be very exact in order for the outputs to be correct. Sometimes this made consolidation challenging. Uniformity was required across all inputs and sources.

Great Tool to gather and analze data in a visual and interactive way!
I use tableau to analyze data, create dashboards and report the inisghts taken from them. The major benefit is the freedom that you have to create any type of way you want to analyze your data and how interactive it can be to give you the best view/analysis you need for your business.
Pros
What I like the most is the fact that tableau is able to generate almost any type of dashboard in order to analyze data in a very easy and interactive way. It gives freedom for the employee to not only analyze the data in given dashboards but also to create their own with their tech team. Which increases ways of seeing the data, analyzing and reporting.
Cons
Since its a considerable amount of data that I use in my case, sometimes tableau "laggs" a bit and it doesn´t load very quickly. I think that would be the only downside of tableau in my perspective.

Exploring Tableau
By far the best visualization tool out there. Highly recommend it if youre looking to level up your dashboards.
Pros
Tableau has great functionality. 'Everything under one roof' I find myself enjoying Tableau each and every time i use it my work has become easier and I feel like my dashboards look crisp and professional.
Cons
Tableau desktop requires to be paid for and to be honest it's quite expensive. I'd recommend it to companies and not individuals unless you can afford it for personal use.

An Ad-hoc visualization tool for small and large scale business
My overall experience is pretty satisfactory. Our team provides consulting to various businesses and Tableau helps us to effectively deliver data-driven dashboards and reports.
Pros
The most impactful features are interactivity and dashboarding, data blending and integration and powerful visualization. IT is easy to use and has a very simple and easy-to-understand UI for a first-timer.
Cons
Native data manipulation is missing. Sometimes I would like to transform my data on the go and avoid spending time using other applications just for transformation purposes.

Tableau is a great data analysis tool
Pros
Tableau is easy to use, and makes data easy to compare year to year with charts. It takes so much of the manual work away! Being able to see figures for a specific area we recruit in and compare those figures year to year allows us to make more strategic decisions for travel, budget for mailers to those areas and help with overall decision making in next years recruitment cycle.
Cons
It was hard to use at first, but then after using it for some time it's easy!
