Streamlining Software Packaging with Advanced Installer
Advanced Installer has been very superb. The device is robust and user-friendly, simplifying the advent of MSI installers. The comprehensive guide documentation is beneficial for troubleshooting. I appreciate the customization alternatives and integration with Visual Studio. Although there was a mastering curve before everything, the efficiency profits and professional consequences make it worth the funding. Overall, Advanced Installer has greatly advanced my software program packaging system.
Pros
What I appreciated most about Advanced Installer is its user-pleasant interface, which makes it clean for anybody to create installers without needing complicated scripting. The device offers a complete variety of features, consisting of support for MSIX, custom issues, and automatic updates. Its built-in wizards streamline the set up manner, making an allowance for quick setups. Additionally, it integrates seamlessly with equipment like Visual Studio and Azure DevOps, becoming smoothly into existing workflows. The responsive guide team is usually to be had to assist solve issues fast, and the software program proves to be cost-effective by using decreasing the need for vast training and further equipment, ultimately decreasing standard development fees.
Cons
What I preferred least approximately Advanced Installer is that its many capabilities can be overwhelming for novices, making the mastering curve steep for those unfamiliar with packaging principles. Additionally, there may be occasional compatibility troubles with specific environments. While the pricing is commonly reasonable, it is probably a concern for smaller corporations or man or woman developers.

Advanced Installer is easy to use and meets my team's needs in style
I've used Advanced Installer for years on home and commercial projects. It's nemesis InstallShield is overpriced, antiquated, and hard to use. Discovering Advanced Installer was a revelation.
Pros
I love Advanced Installer because it has a simple and clean user interface, and the user interface is easy to use. The support I got from the team prior to an Enterprise Edition license was top-notch. We had a non-trivial installer requirement, and they worked hard to get us where we needed to be.
Cons
The Enterprise Edition is not free ;) Seriously, I really have no complaints. It does what I need it to, and the support was a pleasure to do business with.

Deploying to PC
My experience of Windows and Microsoft is not good. An elephant product that you have to restart and update almost every day. The entire process with certificate etc is overwhelming
As a software under Windows it somewhat inherits the confusing UI. Considering the circumstances (Windows) it is a OK product.
You can read about my adventure here: [sensitive content hidden]
Pros
There are few options on the market that is better considering the circumstances.
Cons
The UI is confusing for such a complex software.

Advanced installer saved our bacon
Pros
Building and maintaining the installer has been a breeze. Changes are simple to manage and the update process was streamlined as soon as we started using the product. Frequent updates help ensure any bugs are quickly realized but more importantly the consistent feature updates help us in ways we hadn’t been thinking about.
Cons
Could be a steep learning curve for some, easily addressed but coming from custom built process it can take a minute to understand the model and how to manage platform and other dependencies.

Good product, although pricing model not attractive to small entrepreneurs/freelancer...
It works, does the job, and have nice features, I just think it lacks some features but I don't even feel like giving feedback because if I do and it's added, I wouldn't receive them because I don't pay the annual amount to get those feature updates.
Pros
It's ease of use is really good, it's easy to manage "projects" and back them up.
Cons
The renewal for perpetual licenses isn't that attractive, you pay half of the original amount for one year updates. One free "LTS" updated version every few years would be welcome.

Excellent, flexible product with exceptional support
Not only would I recommend Advanced Installer but I have done so many times during the decade+ I've been using it.
Full disclosure: I receive a complimentary license for Advanced Installer because I am a Microsot MVP. However, I wouild buy a license without that consideration because the product is that good.
Pros
The support team at Caphyon is top three of all companies I've dealt with in more than 30 years of active software use. They are responsive, intelligent, and provide excellent suggestions and corrections.
The feature set is huge and their frequest updates provide real feature enhancements not just window dressing.
Cons
Hard to think of anything... perhaps that It's expensive. But it's worth it. (see disclosure below)

Effortless Deployment? Make it possible with Advanced Installer
Our overall experience with Advanced Installer was really good, the support we received from the team regarding any technical support was really commandable.
Pros
The best thing about the Advanced Installer is their user-friendliness even someone who has less experience in installation can easily create an installation package with their easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface. It supports a wide range of formats and platforms which is very beneficial. It has a built-in updater which automatically updates the software and keeps it up-to-date.
Cons
Everything about Advanced Installer is good, only negative is we can only be able to use it on Windows if your are looking to use it on other OS like Linus and Mac there is no native support from Advanced Installer. And cost is also bit higher compare to other tools, but it really worth it.

An installer with a great architecture
Overall okay. There were some very handy features as mentioned. Like file checksum and advanced monitoring featured. And there were some improvements to be done as well. But I really enjoyed the time with it.
Pros
Mostly the SHA-1 check and Monitoring services can be considered as the best features.
Cons
Probably the pricing and the Report and statistics feature to needs to be improved.

SoftGlue VS22 & AI MSI development
Event though all my installations and applications are signed and licensed I still get the windows defender malware warring screen although Programs and Features recognizes the publisher and installs and uninstall the application as legitimate signed. I know you told me to buy an EV code. What I don't know and your customer support has never told me, is will getting an EV code illegitimate the windows defender smart screen for the third part web hosting. I'm assuming it would if I hosted myself. Not possible at this time. So I haven't invested in any EV codes. Don't want to be stuck with something that does not work. Question, how does Advanced Installer avoid the smart screen download error problem. how can I incorporate what you do in my AI MSI's. Your installations and your update installs are your own MSI's. How can I do this with my own AI MSI's / EXE's. A question I've had but never answered by Advanced Installer customer service. This is a question not for the gabbing forum. Its legitimate customer service question because it directly affects advanced In stall's business. You cant & wont help to solve it, I go to a competitor who will, with a new 2 year 499 license or not. You can reach me at [sensitive content hidden] if you want to answer this softglue critical question. How does AI avoid the Malwarre smart screen download installation error? Is the EV code absolutely necessary and does AI also purchase EV codes for their own downloaded installations?regards,Mark
Pros
The ability to add your own installation programs. This allowed me to add high MSI / EXE security.
Cons
I use it as basic installation development, so I don't have any.

A great workbench to package your software
We needed to package multiple tools, made with different languages/platforms in the same installer. This makes for a complex installation requirement, but Advanced Installer was able to offer all that we required to do this successfully.
Pros
Advanced Installer offers a ton of options to customize the installation and to analyze its progress. Available default folders list is particularly rich and that helps us a lot. Furthermore, the ability to choose user/machine installation types is nice to have in an environment where not all users are admins of their machines.
Cons
What makes Advanced Installer great (the great deal of options) also makes it a bit hard (time-consuming) to learn for an effective usage. Maybe some guided steps / a simpler UI in some parts could help in speeding up the learning curve for the novice user.

Advanced Installer is a Powerful Tool for creating Software installation Packages.
Pros
Adding prerequisites and setting up file and folder structures are just a few of the common tasks that Advanced Installer can automatically detect and complete. You will spend less time and effort creating your installation packages as a result.
Cons
The aspect of Advanced Installer that I like least is its cost. The Professional edition, which most users will require, costs $399 a year at the beginning.

A Fantastic, Scalable Installer Solution
Pros
Our company had used several installer solutions prior to Advanced Installer including a competitor (at the time) and our own custom solution. Advanced Installer has been the most stable and most cost effective solution yet. It's worked in our workflow very well.
Cons
The user interface customization of Advanced Installer is probably its weakest point. It does have some limited customization, but maintaining branding properly can be a challenge at first.
