Yodeck Saving Lifes!

It's very easy to use, there are a bunch of resources out there to help you troubleshoot or if you just want to learn more about it's capabilities. I love how easy it was to install.

Pros

I love how easy the installation was. Literally step-by-step instructions and multiple videos to reference on YouTube.

Cons

The interface is still a bit clunky but it seems like that's the case with any signage service.

Great Grafana Integration

Cons

Currently, the only platform available to use Grafana is via the Raspberry Pi Yodeck installation.

Reasons for Choosing Yodeck

YoDeck for the win

Thus far it has worked very well. More than well. Yodeck has been above and beyond what we were looking for.

Pros

What I like most about Yodeck is that it is easy to use and powerful enough to do what we need.

Cons

The only con is that Yodeck takes a bit longer than I would like to update content.

Decent product, WebUI is equally convoluted akin to PiSignage.

I'm using this to play music videos and show pics in-between the videos. Works well enough for that.

Pros

Boots up faster than PiSignage does, custom boot logo is cool.

Cons

STOP OVERWRITING MY CONFIG.TXT FILE!I have my custom LCD screen config in there (Rotated 180 degrees, resolution manually set to 800x480, etc.) and after every push to the player, it's over-written to the monitor's defaults, and then my LCD no longer works between reboots as a result. Please add 800x480 to the resolution list, as it's a very common resolution for 5" LCD screens for Raspberry Pi.

Robust digital signage solution that won't break the bank and easy to use.

I would recommend Yodeck to anyone looking to implement a digital signage solution.

Pros

The ease of us. I was able to setup Yodeck in about an hour. Since implementing 3 years ago we've saved hundred hours in OSHA training.

Cons

The one thing I dislike is the WiFi key is in clear text under Network for the player. This should be encrypted. The other is being able to pull reports on all the monitors and their configurations.

Pros

Simple to use, quick, very stable and quick to update.

Cons

The only downside I've had is the video playback sync, it just doesnt work for us and ended up displaying the content on one screen. The rest is quality. If you want to run one video over multiple screens then the timing is likely to get you frustrated.

The Best Value In Digital Signage

The deployment has been easy. The hardware is cheap. We've had much higher user adoption, and I've enjoyed administering it. It's been easy to experiment and make changes. My team has truly loved using YoDeck

Pros

It is incredibly user friendly for both admins and customers. It's cheap and easy to deploy, it's easy to manage...it's amazing!

Cons

There are limited features compared to more full-fledged platforms, such as wayfinding. But we do not utilize that.

A+ Cloud Based Signage !

I use Yodeck to control advertising on 70+ tvs aligned horizontally and vertically in several states and a multitude of cities. I have tried several other providers for cloud based signage and Yodeck is lightyears ahead of the competition in terms of ease of use, responsiveness, price and customer service. Switching from the competition was one of the best business decisions I've ever made and it has benefitted our team and company greatly.

Pros

Yodeck is amazingly powerful and surprisingly affordable. The web-based interface is very easy to learn, and very responsive. I love the ability to see which devices are located in different regions of the United States and the depth of the preferences/settings is, honestly, amazing.

Cons

I have not had one issue that wasn't resolved by customer service within 20 minutes, and I wish every establishment had half of the customer service as Yodeck does! It would be nice to have a standalone app in addition to a web-based option, but that is a personal preference and doesn't negatively impact what Yodeck does.

Great Signage solution

Overall, this product is excellent. Yhe product is very lightweight but very powerful. Being able to develop your own apps or even develop your own internal websites that can be displayed on the players, along with being able to run scripts on webpages to automate login to pages is a very nice touch. It does make management of the platform on a day to day basis very easy. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a new digital signage platform.

Pros

The fact that it is a cloud based platform really works well for us. Due to not being reliant on a central publisher located in a DC, the management of the platform can be done from anywhere. With integrations for SSO from Azure AD, this also provides security and RBAC access from our existing estate without the need to manage individual users and groups in the application. Having Raspberry Pi's run the content displays is a nice touch too, as they are cheap to replace should one fail and using Micro SD cards to install the OS on is also really handy as these can be rebuilt in minutes should there be a problem with the player. There are a large number of widgets available out of the box, but being able to create your own is also really handy too. This way we can build a generic widget for a certain task, then just keep re-using it for different sites.

Cons

As with any new products, there are a few teething issues. These are mainly down to widgets needing to be developed to allow certain functionality. However, Yodeck tech support are very prompt and very helpful, so can't really say this is a down point. Just a staged development of the app integrations i suppose with any platform.

Yodeck in a Retirement Community

Overall, once learning the system, I've enjoyed working with it. I like a very colorful and detailed display due to it being in a Retirement Community, where many seniors have vision issues. I enjoy being able to create event/activity specific slides and playlists that change automatically (scheduled) each week. Also, residents really enjoy having music playing in the lobbies - when I am able to find an option for streaming audio.

Pros

I like being able to create individual slides for upcoming events (versus a listing of events that can cause confusion with seniors). I also create weekly playlists, and am able to schedule them to change each Friday evening to reflect the upcoming week. This allows me to take one full day near the end of each month to create the next month's slides, events, playlists, etc and then I'm done. I don't have to be "hands on" more than once a month unless I choose to. Also, in cases when an event/activity needs to be rescheduled or cancelled, it is easy to change the slide to reflect this. Our lobbies are also more interesting and attractive with the announcement screens and playlists.

Cons

I can create a slide with specific text fields, "lock" them, and then add another field and the font will change. Or when I open a slide, sometimes the fonts in text fields have changed in such a way that the text does not fit the view any longer (ie: changed to a larger font). I'm not sure why this happens, but it does.Underlaying audio into layouts is difficult because the options are very limited without paying for a streaming service. It would be MUCH better if playing a streaming radio station (ie: K-love, etc) were an option.

Manufacturing Use

Pros

I am a safety engineer and it is very simple to work with for me. I can update the screens in various locations throughout our shop and have no problems. The set up was super easy and the websites that can be copy and pasted for web use works very well. This way I am able to put up safety videos over subjects we have problems with. I love that you can add powerpoint as well and it will set up the times to scroll through all of it. In some scenarios with past digital signage companies I had to paste slide for slide so this saves me a ton of time. Yodeck provides free players with subscriptions to services which makes it very convenient should you have to present for approval to corporate. All in all this is a great platform and I enjoy using it.

Cons

There is nothing I can think of besides maybe having a day counter option. I would like to put a clock up that counts the amount of days without an accident to display on the screens in the shop and I can't find anything like that on the widgets besides countdowns.

Blair House Community Bulletin Board

At the age of 70 my age and IQ I was able to create a system that improves so many people's lives with a easy learning curve for free and still have the energy engagement page displayed.

Pros

I have a blog for the Blair House a seniors residence in Ottawa Ontario Canada and this Yodeck software has given me the ability to display in real time The bus schedule for our bus stops ( 4 in total ), plus the weather, Emergency warnings system, Our Community Events Calendar, Covid 19 status all edited from my home pc or cell phone.
In Canada we are a bilingual country English and French so all the webpages have to be repeated in both languages. easy as can be.
The building is an Ottawa Community Housing building with an energy engagement program that consists of a monitor in the lobby that informs tenants of how much energy is being used ( electricity and gas) and compares it with other similar buildings .
Now the information is of some value to the tenants as they do not have to wait outside in the rain or cold to catch a bus.
I was somewhat concerned about the new Raspberry Pi 4 that replaced the Pi 3 as to how much work it would be to upgrade it involved 8 letters and a hyphen WOW works fine!
This is by far one of the best Raspberry projects that I have come across thumbs up.

Cons

In the Ottawa Community Housing building we have a large percentage of people that do not speak either of Our official languages and it would be nice to incorporate Google Translate into this platform.
I would like to see a camera on the raspberry Pi that could scan a QR code that when displayed would translate to the appropriate language.
It is very important to try to create a hands free environment in this time of Covid.

Effective system for managing information delivery in schools

Keeping students and staff informed of news and events is an important aspect of school life. Yodeck allows us to keep everyone in the loop, makes celebrating successes a simple task, and the scheduling functions means much of the day / week / year can be preconfigured to fit the different daily schedules.

Pros

The simplicity of setup is a great draw - having the option of preconfigured Raspberry Pis being delivered, ready-to-display, is a huge plus. It also makes adding additional screens a breeze as budgets allow.

Cons

The web-based interface does take some getting used to, particularly for individuals with less experience navigating directory structures on the web.

Fantastic experience

Pros

I've used many different media players over the last 10 years, mvix, usb, Pi players etc, had issues with all. Managers fumbling with USB drives, proprietary players when die have to buy another for $250 etc, i can create a Yodeck player with raspberry Pi imager anytime i have an issue and have back running in 10 mins. For network issues I install Kasa smart plugs so all i have to do is powercycle the outlet and boom, back online every single time!

Cons

Seriously have no cons at all, it is a fantastic product and very reliable.

My Yodeck Experience

Our monitors are placed at select entrances where our patrons enter the Library. They have replaced the old-style bulletin boards for daily coming events. We also use it to promote lesser know services found on our website. I find that fresh content works best and keeping the timelines to 60 - 90 seconds with individual frames set at 7 seconds for images, and 10 seconds for mp4s.

Pros

Yodeck is great for us. We have 5 monitors scattered throughout our building and can all be monitored from my office or from home when need be. It has a great interface, easy to use and understand. It has great flexibility and options for layouts that can be assigned to individual monitors. Very easy to upload images and videos. Very user friendly with constant updates and tips which are appreciated.

Cons

Needs a larger bank of Apps (widgets). I would like more setting options in those apps. Too many save and push buttons on the same page. Keep it to one.

Best digital signage solution on the market.

Yodeck has been a game changer for our organization. The features and capabilities you receive for the price is the best we have seen in the digital signage space.

Pros

I am very familiar with various technology and the software is easily implemented and very user friendly. Even if you are not as technologically inclined the setup and maintenance is very straightforward. The main reason we went with yodeck is due to the remote management which streamlines new content across all of our locations.

Cons

I found the transitions between content on the screens to be a bit choppy. We now upload a single powerpoint converted to mp4 which prevents choppy transitions between slides. Although I believe it was updated since we started with yodeck but I haven't found the need to move away from our current method.

Yodeck - All you need for digital signage

Pros

I was searching for a digital signage in order to project trailer and show scheduler for our cinema.
Yodeck was the optimal solution. Based on Raspberry Pi, cheap hardware that you can manage as you want, Yodeck gives you full remote configuration of you system: you can upload any media (audio/video/image) or you can also link directly youtube videos or webpages!
What I most liked is the possibility to create diffent playlist, mixing layouts with different kind of media, and scheduling the playlist whenever I want, switching automatically playlist in various time of the day.
The update from the portal is very simple and the monitor will syncronize with the contents scheduled in very short time.
Very nice also the alerts that notice you that you monitor is offline, so you can check the status with very short downtime.
The installation is very easy: yodeck gives you the os image for the raspberry: the only thing you have to do is install the image and follow the instructions.
So, I am very satisfied with this solution (we have been using it for more than 3 years and we never had problems) and I advice it for who need a simple but powerfull system for digital signage.

Cons

Maybe is not very intuitive the part about making a layout on the screen and then checking how it comes on the monitor, but with but with a few attempts everybody will manage to configure all

Yodeck is everything we didn't know we needed in an easy to deploy restaurant digital signage system. Sure, certain areas can be improved upon and they are always improving the product so I trust they will. In the meantime, the benefits of Yodeck are vast. You will not be disappointed in choosing Yodeck for your digital signage needs whether it be managing one screen at one location or multiple across multiple locations.

Pros

Yodeck is an excellent mid-tier digital signage system that offers free players. It's easy to deploy and even easier to manage remotely. Yodeck delivers a robust yet efficient solution for digital signage at a reasonable cost that just works. Period.

Cons

While Yodeck excels in many areas it would benefit greatly from a UI update in others. Overall, the Dashboard UI is acceptable but specific areas like scheduling and media storage are antiquated and can be confusing to use.
