ACT Works for this Sales Guy
I have used it for over 25 years and I find it invaluable.
Pros
The CRM is a good but it is great as a tool to send personalized emails and letters to groups of people.
Cons
It takes up a lot of memory and with a low gig computer can be an issue.

30-year user great program but could still be a little better
Like I said the flexibility is is very good and helpful. It has grown and expanded with the times. The customer service is probably the best with any company I deal with. I wish they had longer hours or 24/7 because of my schedule I work with people all over the world and sometimes wind up needing help in the middle of the night. It's gotten too pricey but it is an extremely powerful program and I've enjoyed using it since the early '90s. I've been through several different owners of the program. The current [sensitive content hidden] seeing the most committed to customer service.
Pros
I've been using acts for over 30 years. I like its flexibility and how it has grown over the years. I do wish it had a better mobile application. It doesn't match the desktop well enough. The thing I like best is the customer support if you are a premium member. But it is very costly.
Cons
The price has gotten almost prohibitive. Other programs are much more affordable. The mobile app for your phone is not up to the high standards that I have come to expect from act for over 30 years.

Difficulties !!!
In the last two years I have accumulated a list of difficulties that I have experienced with ACT. Until two weeks ago there were 45 items on the list as well as screen grabs showing the error messages and bizarre things that have taken place. I finally discontinued using one ACT business services. I've had more than six sales people contact me in an effort to upgrade or whatever and each time i complained about problems. Only one person out of that group responded with a solution Warren Meredith. He instructed me to contact ACT Support. I very recently upgraded and contacted ACT Support and I am presently in the process of HOPEFULLY solving the problems. We'll see once I have finished.
Pros
Act is a great program when it works. I have been using it for well over 25 years.
Cons
After purchasing ACT from Costco 25 or more years ago the software ownership has changed multiple times. Each time the customer service has gotten worse and the program updates have gotten more expensive. Subcontractor customer service people have been really poor and unable to solve problems when contacted and in some cases made the problems worse. For example having to restart the program 11 times in one eight hour period of time because it crashed.... among many other problems

Would highly recommend
Brilliant - I would highly recommend ACT to anyone as a full on CRM system, there is definley more we could do with the system, but it is having the time to speak to [sensitive content hidden] who is fantastic.
Pros
We can adapt the layout to our needs and the support from [sensitive content hidden] is absolutely fantastic, even if it is a small query. It works well with our records with dates etc and getting the reports we require is perfect
Cons
There are no cons as we have adapted the system to suit our needs with the help of [sensitive content hidden]

Liking AMA
Mostly positive. Use the CRM and AMA. AMA is easy to use and the stats go into the CRM. One Stop Shop.
Pros
All in one affordable solution for a CRM with AMA.
Cons
APC does not have all the functionality of the Desktop version. Therefore we have RDB's and sync so that we have the extra functionality. Often times the ACT servers are too busy for us to sync successfully during the day. We have to wait until after hours to sync.

Argus International
Many times very frustrating because some of the functions were not clearly understood.
Pros
Easy access to several functions and reference information access.
Cons
In the past it was poor support because of long delays in answering and sometimes not able to understand the support person.

It's gotten so much better over time!!
Seems like I am always finding new things to do with the program. Very user friendly and I find it easy to navigate. Like with anything, you have to be willing to put some time into seeing what it can do specifically for you.
Pros
I have used several versions of Act for years now. I like the easy conversions of making excel spreadsheets to share data.
Cons
The Cons go back to the very early versions.

Support is good. Sales and Marketing follow up needs attention.
Pros
Tech-support is always quick to answer the phone, and supervisors are readily available with escalated questions.
Cons
We purchased a marketing package with Act! a year ago, and no one has reached out to us from the client success team (or an equivalent) to check on us or figure out why we’ve not been able to make progress.

One person operation-great. Enterprise unknown.
Dismal-frustrating-complete waste of our team time watching videos that showed features only available to $$$$ pricing. I NEVER buy annual commitments on unknown software but in a moment of 'getting the job done' I did it here.
Pros
Familiar from days gone past.
Cons
The marketing is limited for larger-scale campaigns. To their credit, they did reach out and offer very well-crafted training.

Had the product since 2006 and only one time was the a small problem fixed that day! A great product!
Pros
What's not to like First of all Client set up is a breeze! Once entered all notes are time dated. To email your client their is an Icon click on it and it automatically opens up Outlook and fills out the email address. Send and email and it keeps a copy of the email you sent to them and or received from them time dated. It allows you to set have set groups of which you can email everyone in that group. For instance maybe you have people who use tank cars, people may use box cars or need certain products you can have send a blast just to those people with a simple click on the group or groups. Want to see the locations a client there is an ico click on that a google maps opens and you can do a satellite view. Suffice it to say it does everything but wash the dishes.
Cons
Nothing! The survey is asking for a min of 40 words to describe what I don't like ok its not free!

ACT! Not only becoming more powerful, but even easier to use.
An excellent app, but with a steep learning curve. But surprisingly improved in the past year. Training would benefit from trainers listening to users.
Pros
ACT! is working hard to make itself my highly valued CRM/Partner. Frequent functionality upgrades and increased reliability. Excellent technical assistance.
Expanded training videos and knowledge database. Act CRM is well integrated with Marketing Automation. It is not an add-on, but is central to and easy to use.
Cons
I have used ACT! for a long time. For much of the time, I was intimidated by its complications. Weak training did not help. A steep learning curve also required that I learn by trial and error. Much time was wasted learning to use ACT!'s power. ACT! 's muscle was hidden by requiring that I learn on my own instead of having good training.
ACT! would benefit from seeking out suggestions from users as to improvements in training. Some of these stunning features took forever to learn on my own.

I have been using ACT for over 30 years and have recommended it to hundreds of people and companies.
Pros
It literally runs all aspects of my life seamlessly.
The recent upgrade was assisted by your technician, [sensitive content hidden]. I have been resisting an upgrade for years (I think I was on 20 because I was concerned of a failure during the process. He was outstanding and to sum up my impression of him in succinctly:

ACT Contact Management Software
Good overall, except for the times that it hangs when using it, and I have to close the application and start again.
Pros
Easy to use for my purposes. I only use it to store contacts and create history files
Cons
I have had many cases where the remote database would stop working with the cloud. Always fixed by ACT, but frustrating. Also, I repeatedly have situations where ACT hangs, and often I have to close it out and start again. This has probably happened over 50 times. When I call ACT for support, it gets resolved, but I never get a good answer why it is doing this.

Ease of Use
Pros
I've been using Act for many years and the ease of use and synchronizing to Outlook makes it a very convenient tool for managing customer databases.
Cons
Act tends to be behind in keeping up with being compatible with new releases of Windows and Windows-related programs.

Good CRM , Keeps me in touch with customers
Pros
[sensitive content hidden] was awesome to work with on getting me to the cloud and understanding what I wanted, he did it all on the technical side , I also commend [sensitive content hidden] on the sales side he was excellent at explaining my options
Cons
I called Enhanced support about 4 other times, and they were ok but really did not understand what I was trying to accomplish (Reason why I called 4 xs ) but once I got [sensitive content hidden] we spoke , He understood and did it while also teaching me

Excellent. I've been using ACT for over 20 years.
Pros
Simple, easy to use. In the cloud and backed up so I can pull it up on any device.
Cons
Sometimes it doesn't want to change company names when you are doing a search.
