This is the Organized digital note taking application beneficial for users as well as corporates and its free to use to anyone with a Microsoft account. Its secured with password protection feature.

Cons

Sometimes we experience syncing issues when working with multiple devices. Little bit difficult to export to other formats such as PDFs.

Omnipresence (mobile, web, app etc.), integration with other Microsoft products, flexibility (allows lists, formatting, images etc.)

search function sometimes lets me down (there are two search boxes - even after years of using the app I get confused)

Its integration with Windows, and its almost free nature make it a tool immediately available to collaborators within our IT fleet.
Everyone knows how to use Microsoft Office, so everyone knows how to use OneNote.
It archives note-taking very well, allows for document retention without cluttering the entire screen, and has a basic search tool.

Cons

There are several online tools that are much more attractive in terms of design. However, OneNote still does its job very well: allowing you to take notes, keep them, and find them easily. However, creating dependencies between notes and collaboration is not smooth at all. Other online alternatives do much better. But they require subscribing to plans, while OneNote is integrated into Windows for everyone.

Reasons for Switching to Microsoft OneNote

Pros

I like how it goes with me on all my devices and I thoroughly enjoy the extremely user friendly User Interface across all cthe compatible devices I use Microsoft OneNote on.

Cons

I disliked that the file format is incompatible with Google Keep Notes app on Android and Apple Notes on iOS.

Pros

Use it extensively for taking notes during a meeting. Can create as many sections and each section can be modified with the content as you require with all the required formatting options.
The data is synced and can be accessed on any device with your account

Cons

The mobile app is not having all the extensive features as the desktop version. Mobile is suited for viewing the creates notes rather than making changes or editing

Pros

So much flexibility to manage your own notes, as well as create and share notebooks or manuals with other teammates. Very easy to learn and has a lot of features that allow you to get away from keeping any notes on paper, and great search functionality to find what you need.

Cons

The interface could use a refresh. I wish it was easier to share a page without sharing an entire notebook. If you don't have an organized system, it can quickly turn into sprawl.

The ability to create a number of folders and sections and navigate between them quickly and seamlessly.

There's not much I dislike about OneNote, however I have experienced some syncing issues in the past that led me to start a completely new Notebook from scratch.

Reasons for Switching to Microsoft OneNote

Pros

Old habits die hard. Even though there are numerous new note-taking apps available—and some of them are really good—I still find myself sticking with OneNote to capture my thoughts and ideas. Despite the allure of new, shiny apps, I always find it hard to switch. OneNote remains my daily driver for note-taking, so I let it be.What I like most about Microsoft OneNote is its ability to handle all sorts of media—text, images, links, and more—and how it manages thumbnails and backlinks. While this isn't unique or groundbreaking by today’s standards, it was back when I first started using it, and it's been working beautifully for me ever since.

Cons

search functionality, while decent, isn't as powerful as I'd like. Finding specific content can be slow, especially in larger notebooks, and it doesn't always surface relevant results as efficiently as other apps. For someone juggling multiple projects or ideas, this can slow down productivity.

Pros

Microsoft OneNote is incredible tool that comes with 365 suite. It follows the same thinking and usecases as many other tools by Microsoft, enhancing the experience of such tools as Outlook and Teams.
The UI is similar to other tools, there is barely any switch. All users tend to understand and know how it works from the start.
There are many instant connections from apps within Windows making it the perfect note tool.

It is limited in customization and does not deviate from intended templates.
Cannot make plans or schemes as in Miro.

Pros

Easy note taking with a lot of organizational options within notebooks (sections/pages etc). Formatting can be applied to call out information easily and its a little easier to start note taking than with a full processor like Word.

Juggling multiple notebooks can be challenging and have had issues going from the desktop application and the web applications as syncs do not always happen quickly between the versions.

I love that it integrates with the Microsoft Suite, and is a way to digitize my notes. I have multiple tabs, but can access all of my notes in one place. Lots of great ways to organize information.

Love the tabs you can make in your notes, keeps you very organized. Backing up my notes so I can have them regardless of what happens to my computer gives me great peace of mind!

Sometimes I will get slightly annoyed by not being able to easily make a new text box within a note sheet. Could be a me issue but sometimes I click away and it just extends my text box to one giant box.

I use OneNote for work every day. I mainly use the app version, but in case of need I can also use the web version e.g. if I am away from office or I am not using my computer. You can organize your notes creating alphabetical section with many sections inside. You can attach images and files and edit the text in the way you prefer like you were using word. You can also have a look at changes during time, so if anything is wrong or missing you can display how it was before last changes. You can share your notes with others via email.
Really useful to keep and share notes and data, especially at work. I prefer dark version.

Sometimes it does not sync giving errors and you have to reinstall it and clean the cache

I think it's great for meetings and to be able to share between whole company or other companies so everyone know what is said on meetings.

This is most dynamic software to take notes efficiently with your PC. I've used OneNote ever since I was a student to take study notes and organize personal matters. The fact that you don't have to carry all the papers is a huge pro. It easily integrates with other Microsoft Office programs, which makes the whole package a great deal. For instance, you can place Excel spreadsheets or Doc files inside the note. The software offers numerous functions that are essential to note-taking and filing. I highly recommend it to students in school, who need to organize the files effectively.

It isn't exactly a best tool when it comes to group work setting. Sharing contents can be tricky sometimes. Also, there is no frequent updates these days, which makes me feel the software is stuck back in the day.
