Simple and Effective System

We enjoy using it overally and have had very few challenges with the system. Where we have had any challenges, the support we receive is excellent, quick and thorough.
The system is easy to learn and any new members of the team catch on pretty quickly.

It helps make our bookings quick and easy.

Pros

It is user friendly, straight to the point and detailed.

Cons

Nothing really comes to mind at the moment.

My opinion

I'm very negative regarding Semper.
I find their accounting side totally unpractical and difficult for non-accounting people to use.
None of the info on reports is trustworthy or easy to categorize. Settings need to be changes again and again and again and one user's settings gets pulled over to all users.

Pros

I can log in remotely - that is the only thing remotely positive regarding Semper.

To be fair... the previous system probably also have this option and it would probably be more streamlined than Semper's but never had need to use it before we switched to Semper

Cons

Data 100% unreliable and everything needs to be double checked.
A HUGE problem if you try to pull an annual report.

Shell Lodges

Good, I do believe however, there is some fine tuning to do with regards to semper and Knightsbridge links as we are experiencing a lot of over bookings which comes through from Knightsbridge and does not allow us to accommodate the Guests on the Semper calendar.

Pros

Does everything one needs for an establishment.

Cons

the online version is very slow - would be great if the speed could be increased.
however, nice and modern and very user friendly.

Looking forward to the next upgrade!

It's a 7/10. It's definitely a better experience than Microsoft ;-) - our only frustration at the moment is the outdated conferencing system.

Pros

Easy to use and intuitive - does everything we need in one system.

Cons

Waiting for the new conference system! We're looking forward to the upgrade but have not been given an ETA.

Pros

Good morning Vic
1.The new version is simple to use .
2.The biggest advantage is that we can access it from anywhere;
3.Support has been great and there seem to be less issues

Cons

All good. In the beginning we had use both systems, which was a hassle.

General Product review

Generally good experience to-date but I know that Semper is aimed more at the Hotel and B&B industry and thus certain parts of the product do not apply to Caravan Resorts

Pros

The product is very "User Friendly". I am a relatively new user and thus I am learning every day as to what the product has to offer. I am inquisitive by nature and I am always looking for new methods to achieve the results we require. Generally the support we get from the Semper Help-Desk is very good.

Cons

I have not had any negative experiences to-date or cannot state what I do not like as I still have to get to know the product in more detail.

The fact that it's super user friendly, and easy to get the hang of.

Sometimes slow, but it's based on your server that the company owns.

Excellent Assistance Received

Pros

The 24 hour support center is the cherry on the top!

Cons

I cannot fault Semper on anything. In my almost 3 months at the guest house, I have had no complaints.

Not user friendly

I've used other POS systems and Semper is one of the least user friendly
steps are not simple
does not take into account the pressure from waiters side in processing orders as it takes very long and becomes frustrating to use - wastes time in waiting for simple tasks to be completed (e.g. waiting for the text box to open, merging a table, splitting a table etc.)
No easy to follow User Manual for Semper Conference especially. It's difficult to understand how to use the various functions, e.g. function sheet etc. (not activated on our side)

Easy to re-instate closed tables
large icons for easy reading

Cons

Not user friendly
Reports are usually not very accurate or user friendly
Too many steps to complete a simple task (e.g. split and combine tables)
Very slow at times
Has many "issues" and takes very long to process table merging or voids.
Freezes often
Not reliable
Does not generate accurate reports
Not enough training done
No quick view user manual for beginners

Pros

Functional Accounting system combined with reservations and Conferencing.

Housekeeping and Laundry

Pros

Easy to learn and use. Sometimes not user friendly eg. bottle neck when entering transactions.

Functional PMS

Pros

At a glance we know how are booking sheet stands

Cons

You can not integrate different properties onto the same data base
We need to be able use CRM as well

Finding the Rights Admin System for Your Hospitality Company

Good experience always helpul & they will get back to me to Confirm that the Issues were resolved

Easy to Contact & most issues are Resolved

Cons

Costs Gets Expensive with other systems also required & it all adds Up.
So one has to make sure the system works for their Company

the stock system - record and ease of checking as supervisor and correcting entering of items
Printing - can not print only one for instance good received note - every time everything of the day have to then copy paste or select

user friendly

very good. just the fact that I need an afrikaans speaking person the assist over phone. someone who can tell me in simple old person's language how to fix something. must give credit to my trainer, [sensitive content hidden] for the way he trained me. so patient, never made me feel dumb.

Extremely User Friendly and Great Support

Pros

I have worked with Semper at Multiple Properties around South Africa and even opted to have Semper implemented in Botswana. I would not use any other PMS in future.

Cons

In my opinion I have not yet found any fault with Semper in order to advise on any improvements required.

Semper PMS Experience

The system is good for small independent hotels, It serves the daily needs of reservations, front office and housekeeping and accounting.

Pros

Dashboard has an easy to use format and everything you need in one place.

Cons

The reporting does not support easy revenue management and analysis.Semper channel manager only connects with limited otas, which is restrictive.

Semper PMS property solutions for us

We are extremely happy with the system and the support is exceptional.

Pros

It helps us to manage our property remotely especially with the new browser version. The reporting system also helps with all aspects of the business.

Cons

So far there is nothing that I don't like.
