Industry leading software
Pros
Ease of use and clean UX. Seamless integration with Esri.
Cons
Respond UI moves around a lot when clicking and navigating. Frustrating for my users. PLL is not easy to administer given all of the nuances. Notifications are also tough to manage and limited in their functionality.

Cityworks - It really works
Overall experience has been great. With how quickly the technological landscape is shifting, Trimble has done very well to keep up.
Pros
Ease of installation and administration. The technical support and extensive documentation available to help admins and users is pretty awesome. All the partners available are experts and do a very good job.
Cons
Cityworks has API and webhooks to help connect with other Information Systems but they do not cover all bases and force us to go with custom solutions.

Cityworks, effective but not intuitive.
I have been a Cityworks user for 5+ years, it has been great for tracking staff hours and integrates fairly well with payroll systems. Reports have been useful in day to day tracking of equipment, labour & materials used for wide variety of tasks.
Pros
I like the ability to track a wide variety of items, from staff hours, to vehicles, to historical data on particular assets.
The reports can be customized to virtually any configuration.
Possibilities seem endless from a user point of view. Once trained thoroughly on the system it is easy enough to use and even new tasks can be figured out with a bit of digging.
Mapping works well to "see" the assets you need to select... asset manager is better used when you know all details of assets in order to select.
Cons
Search feature is not easy and often comes up with no data when data exists. There are too many fields and variable to choose from "out of the box" , needs excessive customizations to fine tune.
Requires an effective team to do "back end" work to keep user friendly. Some tasks are not customizable limiting useages.
Extensive training is necessary to really use system effectively, untrained users can really mess up data.

Work and Asset Management Workhorse
Good experience with feedback from our users to allow us to make Cityworks what they need and to make it more user friendly for users who do not have a GIS background.
Pros
This is a very scalable software for work and asset management. The best part is that it is 100% GIS based. It is also very customizable through XML and JS changes. We have made it our own to what our users require.
Cons
The separate map page can be hard to work with. Most of our users prefer to use GIS Search. We have also customized the work order page to include an imbedded map.

great for public works
Our previous work order program did not have a mapping feature and also did not allow you to track costs. We now can track costs in many different ways (by asset, by location, by date, by time period, etc.).
Pros
The mapping feature allows us to see problem areas instead of just looking at a list.
Cons
If you schedule repeat work orders, they are created immediately upon completion of the current work order. This tends to clutter up your list of work orders.

review for Cityworks
Easy to start to work with it
Strong GIS function
Too many clicks for certain functions.
Pros
This is a great system with embedded GIS. Users run the system for asset management through work order, inspection, service request modules, and etc.
Cons
As different organizations have different business work flow, we need customization to fit our business requirement. Cityworks lacks the tool to make customization.
