They got PMS basics right

Overall experience is very positive from our operations team. As a DOS I look forward to the day that Skytouch ads sales functions so we can have an integrated and interfaced group sales component!

Pros

This basic hotel management software is easy to use and reliable.

Cons

Skytouch does not have group sales support functions that I have become reliant uponfrom other systems at other properties.

A comprehensive PMS at a reasonable price

SkyTouch Hotel OS allows us to easily manage our hotel. Our management team can troubleshoot reservations from home, and their 24/7 tech support team has been fantastic.

Pros

The ability to drag-and-drop reservations into specific rooms; the integration with SiteMinder; the cloud based platform;

Cons

The fact that, at the time, we could not import existing reservations from our previous system. Our staff were able to manually make existing reservations in the new system, which ended-up providing good practice.

In short, the product was oversold and underdelivered

Pros

I liked that it was a cloud based software, so that I could remotely manage multiple properties from my phone or laptop. During the sales process, I was impressed with its UI because out of most of the other products at this price point, this looked the most current and modern, comparable to other tech interfaces. It seemed it would be the most flexible for accommodating our needs and being flexible, so that if we had a sudden influx of guests, we could have another agent use a tablet to check guests in.

Cons

My BIGGEST problem with this system was that this system would authorize an unknown amount of money on a guest's card that WE did not set. Guests would pay for their stay, but an extra amount would also be withheld on their card, that we did not authorize. We were blind to the amount and the settings, and nobody could figure out nor fix the problem. During the sales process, we were told that with this product, we would never have to worry about being offline, because even if our Internet or power went out, it would save and give us access to our reservation information and re-sync whenever the internet or power came back on. There are frequent outages where the system is inaccessible because of an update to their system. Not only that, there is absolutely NO UX design in mind in their product. In terms of navigation, you need to pull up multiple tabs to achieve one objective, even though a basic UX designer could and would design a better process. We thought housekeeping would be easier with Skytouch. However it requires navigating through two different processes in order to produce a single list, and then exiting out of everything to generate a report. We had MANY other issues, that we tried to resolve. We have wasted so much time and money on implementing and using this software, I regret ever using this product. I should have run during the sales process, when they spent more time talking down their competitors rather than talking up their product.

Great System

I had the oportunity to set up my entire systemand configure all and sink with my hotel. Overall it have been really greattowork with and easy to configure,the help at support is really great and they do the best to help out to fixed any problem or to answer any of your question or doughts.

Pros

It'seasy to used, help with overall setups and manage ans is easy to work with and manage.

Cons

It have minors cons, like thetype chart not allowing you to see back on days, system set updon't allow youto configure the space of the Registration card and other stuff that you thing wile working with the systam that are just toghts that you say if it just do this will be even better.

Great Operating System

Great experience mainly due to the design of the software. It integrated well and most importantly provides updates and training that brings everyone up to speed quickly for a fast & seamless implementation.

Pros

The system was built to be easy to use and train new employees quickly. It allows flexible scenarios to be easily accounted for through a great product flow design.

Cons

Customer support was at times difficult and the time to resolution longer than you would expect. Although i will fully admit it was rare we had any major system issues or downtime.

Terrible UX

Complicated and unnecessary steps to complete a task.
Give users feedback message when sending out confirmation/cancellation e-mails.

Pros

I only liked the little icon that displays when you collect payment from a guest. That's very useful to have on the arrival list.

Cons

Almost everything.
There's rarely any feedback message when you send a confirmation/cancellation e-mail to guests. Most times it never makes it to a guest's inbox.
Lots of error message that offers no solution.
For our flow, we have to fill out a guest's contact info before we take their card information. When a cardholder name is blank, there's an error message that displays and tells us we have to fill it out. Very inconvenient when you're trying to save a guest's info and you can't because of that error message. Results in us having to cancel the changes which clears everything you made in the input field!

SkyTouch is easier to use than our past PMS and we appreciate the ability to train someone...

Pros

The ease of training new employees, the reservation process, the home page that you are able to change to fit your property.

Cons

The group functions (not being able to change rates per day, and some glitches that have caused us to have group rooms unaccounted for. Also the downtime that hits us during our check in time in the PST time zone.

Very User Friendly

Pros

The customer support is excellent and this software is extremely easy to use. The fact that it also a web based application is very helpful.

Cons

It would be nice to have a few more revenue management capabilities. This could include the ability for adding add-ons.

So far it has been really good for us

Pros

mostly self explanatory and great help with Skytouch Support every time I have used it. I like the group functionality

Cons

I need to make promo codes for events and there is not a way to restrict the general public from booking rooms online while letting our event guests book using a promo code...this makes no sense to me as I have been able to do it with all other software.

The SkyTouch Difference!

Pros

What I like most about the software is the ease of use. SkyTouch has allowed us to cut down our training time for new hotel front desk agents. SkyTouch Learning adds an extra bonus of virtual training as well.

Cons

There honestly isn't much that I dislike about the software and the only dislike that I have is the layout of the registration card. The layout of the registration card is too limited on the number of allowed words.

Couldn't be Happier

Our rate management is very easy because of SkyTouch.

Pros

The integration with third party web sites (OTA's) is easy to use and well designed.

Cons

Our staff has indicated they have no dislikes at all with SkyTouch.

Worst PMS system

Pros

There are only two positive things about this PMS system.
1. This is a web based system there can be accessed from anywhere.
2. 24/7 US based phone support.

Cons

The list on cons is long:
1.Frequent crashes and updates that does not add any useful features to the system.
2.Long list of known issues but no intentions of ever fixing these issues.
3.This system is primarily used by Choice hotels so the design and features of this PMS is geared toward choice hotels.It is not a good system for independent hotels.
4.Only few integrations and interfaces to 3rd party platforms.
5.Over bookings happens frequently and when you call them about the over bookings you are told that they will run the so called Delta Report but no body cares to follow up after that.

Easy Peasy

I have worked with skytouch and choice advantage for that matter and I am very pleased. It really does simplify the day to day operations. Thank you for upgrading the out of order feature

Pros

This software program is web based and the ease of training a new employee is fantastic. The training module provided are simple and the support is quick to getting you answers.

Cons

The group quick pick up and fast edit buttons are now unfunctional I do not like that !!!

just as nice as your Franchise Choice Advantage

Its easy for the staff to pick up and learn.

Pros

its simple,
easy to navigate,
the customer service is always available 24/7 to help.
always up to date

Cons

The system is slow moving, Skytouch support wait time is ridiculously long.
The updates they do seem to make the system very slow.

Reset password issue

Pros

The accounting/bookkeeping reports with QuickBooks. The alerts and the ability to leave messages on the Community Board/opening log in.

Cons

Tape Chart not able to view past info. Inability to easily make a promo for a room block on line - involves upping to a ridiculous amount the regular bookings to block all but promo. Posting adjustments- inability to just void a recent transaction error. No Show - unable to reverse if necessary.

I don't like the tier system...prefer to just enter whatever rate I want.

Pros

Ease of access, not overly complex. Glad that the rate system has an override function, but the default is set to just 100 days out...I should be able to override anytime in the future.

Cons

I don't like the rate tier system....prefer to just enter whatever rate I want. Plus the occupancy report does not include block revenue with rooms not picked up yet...completely throws off my ability to enter OTB revenue.

user friendly and love the reports....as I mentioned I have been using skytouch for many many years..

Overall software works well for this property.

Pros

Tape chart, cloud based, customer service excellent.
Dash Board . Easy check-ins and checkouts, ease of training new staff

Cons

Do not like that you can't transfer deposits, funds from one acct. to another.
Would like to be able to transfer a gift certificate into the reservation when a guest calls to book.

SkyTouch is very user friendly. Little train if you know computer programs.

Pros

The ease of use. Drop down menu or tap make it easy for the staff, and the different of options they offer to get to where you are going is amazing.

Cons

Direct Billing and Group blocks, it is all the little steps you have to do to make it complete. Also a group block does not show up on the day of arrive even when you have not checked them in yet.

Very simple to use and navigate

The ease of use , and great customer service , easy to understand commands, and navigation of the software is super

The glitches, sometimes cause pain in the butt trouble shooting, but it doesn't happen to terribly often

Some of the features are not as easy to use as they should be.

Cons

Posting credit balances in the direct bill accounts is not very easily done. Some of the features have to many steps involved in them. It is not easy to find some of things I need right away or I can't access them without calling sky touch for help. As the General Manager I would think I would be able to a bit more control over certain aspects and function of the system.

New to industry I was trained by a skytouch representative. I found the program so easy to use!

Learned how to maneuver reservations around to make it easier and more efficient way of checking people in and out.

Pros

The support was excellent and fast. They did not make you wait on hold and we're so nice and patient with me. I don't think I ever waited more than a few minutes for someone to get on the line and help me.

Cons

The down time for upgradea was sometimes inconvenient but overall it was a total positive experience working with skytouch. I can't say anything negative about this company to be honest. I have worked with several systems and this is the best one out there.

Easiest program I have used in a very long time!

Its a great program to use in a fast pace business! It is user friendly and the support that comes along with it is unbeatable!

Pros

User friendly! Tech support is so friendly and ready to help with any question or concern! The check in process is quick and easy along with the check outs!

Cons

I don't like how we cant look up rooms by just the room number. The refund process is tricky as well.
