Hands Down Winner
Pros
ConstructionOnline's format and function are intuitive which helps me find what I need when I need it. It's easy to understand, but full of smart features that will help us to be excellent in our trade. Having a quality customer service experience, consistently, is also a huge reason I can trust that ConstructionOnline wants us to be successful together.
Cons
I wish I had more time to get familiar with all of the features available but the 10 day trial period is still enough to see that this is the system for us. If CompanyCam could be integrated with it in future, that would be great, but not a deal-breaker by any means.

If You’re a Residential Contractor, This Software Does It All
Aside from its features, the best thing about this software is the exceptional customer support. Wait times are minimal (if any), and the team knows the product inside and out. If they don’t have an answer right away, I always get a quick callback.
As a residential renovation company, this software works perfectly for our needs. While I don’t use all the features, I can see how it’s versatile enough to benefit larger construction companies too. Highly recommend
Pros
This software is fantastic and super easy to use, especially for estimating. The estimation section, complete with assemblies, is my go-to. I frequently use stored templates I’ve created, and the ability to save custom estimates as templates is a game-changer. The Redline section is also amazing for take-offs, which can be seamlessly sent to an estimate—something I haven’t seen done elsewhere.
All estimates can be exported to QuickBooks or Excel, making integration a breeze. I also love the variety of reports available. They can be used as-is, customized, or exported as PDFs. I often import these into Excel for further personalization.
A standout feature is the ability to see your job margin and adjust markup to maximize profit while staying competitive—extremely useful for tracking profitability.
The Selections and Change Order sections are incredibly helpful. Clients can easily approve COs and selections, preventing misorders and avoiding inadvertent issues. Plus, clients can access various reports and progress updates, keeping everyone on the same page.
We also use the chat feature for job-specific communications, saving us from digging through endless emails. Weekly job notes and progress reports are posted here, and we share updates directly with clients.
Lastly, the ability to take and organize photos is fantastic for both internal records and keeping clients updated on progress. This software truly streamlines our workflow and improves client communication.
Cons
There are times when I wish a feature was developed to work better for me, and they are not always available quickly. Usually, I find a way to work differently or export to a PDF or Excel and get what I need that way.

ConstructionOnline ...nothing short of a complete failure
Our journey with ConstructionOnline has been nothing short of a complete failure. Despite investing significant time and resources, we were never able to fully implement our system, yet we were charged the full first-year fee with no offer of even a partial refund.
Our onboarding and implementation process spanned 3.5 months as we struggled to align with their system. We encountered a major roadblock in adapting their scheduling/dispatching module causing significant delays and preventing us from progressing to other modules.
Their workaround instructed us to rely on static reports, which proved impractical and irrelevant to our workflow. Ultimately, we had to make the difficult decision to abandon our efforts to implement ConstructionOnline.
We communicated our decision to the implementation team as well as the Sr leadership in writing and requested a partial credit. Given that the system was never fully implemented, we expected at least a partial credit for the first year's SaaS fee. Instead, there was no response from the leadership at all, and the reply from the salesperson simply stated …” that our account would be deactivated to avoid future charges” ….
Pros
Everything presented in the Sales pitch met with our needs during the original disucussions with the sales team.
Cons
We could never get Scheduling / Dispatching to fit our needs. We simply wanted to be able to see our backlog of projects and to be able to schedule a technician against the open opportunity in real time. Instead, they had us create reports, run the report, and then see the outcome. This was totaly impractical.

Project Manager
Overall UDA is a great product. So far I mainly use UDA for estimating and scheduling only. I love how the estimates can be converted into schedules.
Pros
I loved how UDA intregrates All Submittals, COI and data in place. And has the ability to monitor their status live.
Cons
I really do not like the Daily logs. If I have 7 trades at our project. I have to create 7 different logs for the day to document the manpower I had on site.

Efficiency of having everything in one place
Overall, it functions extremely well for the way we incorporate it, which is primarily for client communication and reporting, RFIs and submittals.
Pros
Mobile access is essential to be able to access plans on site in real time. UDA ConstructionOnline streamlines communication with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, documenting interactions and recording them in real time with the most up-to-date information.
Cons
The "to-do" and gameplan features are not yet at a point where we can incorporate them--we are still using Trello for this. The mobile app also has a very different interface and lacks some features.

Ivey Custom Homes - UDA Construction Online
Overall im very pleased with CO. I started out in 2003 or so with just the estimating program, so it has came a long way. Time spent with the system is efficient and user friendly. My employees picked it up quick and its used daily.
Pros
Just about everything now that the insurance tracking has been added. This will now allow all information to be in one place.
Cons
Really wish you could add WIP based accounting to the software so it would be more tailored to the industry. As a QB user, QB is somewhat generic for home building and the online version is even more. An all in one offering with accounting, heck i would pay more to have the integration in one package.

Construction Online and our company
With the option for a mobile app managing projects has become easier and the team has the information always at hand.
Pros
It contains in one place all the necessary tools to manage a project, from the conception of said project with the creation of estimates to daily monitoring with photos and reports. Every detail of project tracking is clearly integrated and user-friendly. It also helps keep the client up to date and has all documentation, communication and evidence in one easily accessible place.
Cons
Some features from Construction Suite are not part (yet?) of the online version.

And last but not least, I can't say enough good things about the technical support team - they respond very quickly and are extremely knowledgeable.

Enjoy using construction online when performing my commissioning jobs. It helps that all information about a certain job is in one place. Can get EID, P&ID, Ideology and also track deficiency items and punch lists. It is easy for my managers to see where I am at during commissioning and what issues I am having.
Pros
All information for a certain project is in one place.
Cons
Some features I don't use.

CO Review, 10/10
Pros
The thing I appreciate the most about the software is how innovative and easy it is. Everything is straightforward, you have all of the things you could ever need from the preliminary phase of a project to the punch list when you’re almost at the completion of a project. Another key element is the option to produce an itemized list of materials directly from your material take off, which I have not seen before in any software and I’ve looked at plenty!
Cons
I don’t particularly dislike anything about the software. The only things that really comes to mind is the pricing and even with that, the elements you’re paying for is absolutely with it! So yes, they can be a tad bit pricey but it all pays off in the long run.

Construction Online project manager assessment.
Overall Construction Online has been a great experience. I find it invaluable. If someone was to take it away at this point, I don't even know what I would do. I use it everyday, it is the first thing I look at when I start work.
Pros
I like the scheduling feature. This allows me to plan ahead on a high level. I can communicate with subs in a realistic and trustworthy way.
Cons

ConstructionOnline is Great
Pros
I like that all the construction documents, estimates, and photos of progress is accessible in one place.
Cons

A helpful, one stop shop platform
Some business items we do with Construction Online is tracking our client's selections for their projects. Whether it is a kitchen remodel, ADU or a new barn or shop, I can do it all on UDA. It tracks their allowances and costs and lets them see all their choices they've made.
Pros
We use Construction Online to upload and showcase our client's selections for their residential projects. I love how it shows the "Selections Overage Summary" Our client's really like to see the running total as well. Oh and one other thing that is probably my favorite feature is the "picker tool!" It is so helpful and convenient!
Cons
That it can take a while to load sometimes, but that may just be my computer.
