THE At-Home Doc!

I’ve used the Teledoc app for minor sickness issues that can be easily addressed over the phone or by video. Once setup, it’s easy to initiate a call with a doctor and they’ve always been kind and understanding...and fairly quick to call too!

Pros

Well the first thing I love is that it is now free with out insurance plan. That’s awesome and amazing! I also like that they have a quick response time. The app allows you to add photos if needed and you can even do a video chat with the doctor.

Cons

It takes a little effort to setup your account. My biggest irritation is when receiving calls from the doctor, it will come from an unlisted number. If your iPhone security is set to ignore calls from unlisted numbers it can seriously delay your call until you fix your settings. Otherwise, the app works really well!

works pretty well

convenient for a quick easy script like im sure would be great for pink eye or a rash or decongestant or something small.

Pros

not too hard to set up and use, if you have insurance the copay can be less than your standard office visit.

Cons

no way of getting tests. the care is a bit limited. if you need a test, then I bet you have to pay twice

This place is a scam

Pros

I love that Teladoc has an attractive website that makes you feel like they will be able to help.

Cons

This place is a scam; I've had a few appointments where I'm trying to get very low-level medications, this time for high blood pressure. I have multiple devices to measure my blood pressure, and I have the data on my phone going back 8 years. The doctor said she couldn't prescribe a medication for the first time over Teladoc. The conversation was less than 2 minutes, and they refused to refund me "because the policy says there is no guarantee of getting medications."

Drs good; system BAD

GITCHES IN SYSTEM INFURIATE, CONSISTENTLY & CONSTANTLY.

Pros

The providers, if you can get to one, have been good, so far (medical & mental health)

Cons

The Teladoc system &customer service are terrible. They always blame internal glitches on provider. It's a runaround

Helpful Healthcare

Pros

When I initially went to schedule an appoint they said they could see me as soon as 6 minutes; I was impressed because if I would have walked into an urgent care this moment it would have taken me atleast 30 mins to be seen; thats not county the amount of time it takes to actually drive there.

Cons

For some reason my insurance provider was constantly being assigned and redirected from a whole other state. I have Ambetter Heath of Tennessee - Not Nebraska, or Arkansas.

50/50 on the doctors. 0/100 on the Customer Service

A complete waste of time an money for me.

Pros

It was fast, and the first visit I had was with a woman that listened, addressed my concerns, and made quick work of my apt. (it was the second one that went bad)

Cons

Second appointment lasted 5x longer than the first. Most of it I spent trying to correct the doctor that wasn't letting me finish talking about the info he could have read in my teledoc medical history but didn't. The rest of the appointment was just trying to get off the phone with him after he said he could do nothign for me and I had to go in person.

Customer support is really bad. I called to report the apt and request a refund. They refused the refund despite continually apologizing for the terrible quality of the visit and saying that because I agreed to the copay before I was responsible.

So, in conclusion they don't take responsibility for their doctors. If I had just listened to the doctor on the second appointment instead of realizing his error and correcting them, if would have resulted in overmedicating the issue.

Would only use if you have no other choice.

Not bad to terrible. The doctors dont really care, they may answer quickly, but their lack of empathy and urgency is baffling. That, along with the inability to carry over information will make me think twice next year when its time to pick insurance.

Pros

Sometimes they get back to right away, other times youre left waiting.

Cons

You information doesnt follow your login. I had an issue where I needed to have someone look at something but my phone was being repaired, when I signed in on another phone, after all the verification I had to fill it all of my medical history again. Such a waste of time.

Waste of time for Patients and Doctors

Pros

The convenience to talk to a physician's exists, but the physicians are bound to TeleDoc's rules that essentially make them quite useless. It's good side income and you can do it while on call. Its a good box to check off by employers as they can say they offer free healthcare.

Cons

They are there to talk and give you advice but nothing helpful. an easy google search will tell you the same.

Pros

It was convenient but now it the software (website or phone app) became useless

Cons

Neither website nor phone app work and very slow

WASTE OF TIME & MONEY

Customer service was nice. I question if I actually spoke to a doctor since she lied about treatment I’ve been given twice in the past being legitimate. Amoxicillin is one of the main treatments for cellulitis and she specifically said it does not treat skin infections.

Pros

Absolutely nothing. I was excited about the convenience of it, but the system kept messing up then I wasted 45 minutes with customer service and in the end got nothing but my money taken!!!!

Cons

Took an hour to make an appointment bc their system wouldn’t work. Spent 45 min on phone with rep. Finally spoke to a doctor who had no clue what she was talking about telling me amoxicillin isn’t used for cellulitis from a bite which I have been prescribed and used by legit doctors twice in the past! They did nothing!

Good company but provider background makes a difference

It has evolved over the years. I've learned how to use Teladoc better. Also, they offer good online training for beginning providers.

Pros

Excellent video and audio experience; provides a nice profile for potential patients to choose providers from; patient note areas now has some checklists which helps a lot.

Cons

Lumps all mental health providers together. Thus, provider pay is lower than the other platforms I use which pay by educational and clinical background of provider. This makes me tend to use other platforms more.

Works Exceptionally Well

My husband's insurance gives him the option of using Teladoc, and it has been a really blessing for us to have during the pandemic. We have used it multiple times and the login in process is very easy.

Pros

I love how easy it is to use. I am able to communicate with my doctor or nurse practitioner without any problems. Logging in is a breeze, and, if needed, a prescription can easily be issued. I really like the quality of the sound and video too.

Cons

There is nothing I dislike about it. I have found it very easy to use, especially during the pandemic, when my husband and I needed an appointment without going out to the office.

I like money

Pros

I like money and patients give me money for the headaches we provide. I was thinking about changing our name to headache-a-doc but that wouldn't be as easy to text.

Cons

It took too long to develop and the patients ask too many questions. When I hang up on them I blame it on bad cell phone service, oops four hundredth time today.

I also don't like that customers give me bad reviews. I wish I could screen out the ones who have expectations before they even come online.

Cons

One time, one of the prescriptions was sent incorrectly. I tried to contact the service again but could not be reconnected

Get a useless appointment Rx and nothing else.

I am so tired of Drs saying they are going todo something and then they dont do it. Leaving you feeling crazy for seeking help in the first place. Im tired of being rushed through my appointments. No one wants to listen and no one follows through. If you say you are going to upload a notice for work then do that, dont leave me hanging. If you schedule an appointment with me do not cancel on me. Listen to me when I speak and take my concerns seriously. Its like going through a factory on an assembly line. Im a real person!

Pros

nothing. How can i like being rushed off the phone, given a prescription and then having my Dr not keep his word?

Cons

everything, I do not like this platform.

Great service!

Allows me to stay working. I do not have to take off 3 hours to go to the doctor. Doctor Amy Merritt is the best! The last service I received was the best teladoc experience I have had. I would rate her service 5 stars and request her every time if I could. I know that's not how it works but she was the best.

Pros

Easy to use connected with a doctor fast.

Cons

I wish that once you find a physician that you like you could request to use that doc as a first choice if available.

I was lied to

Tried 1 time and never will again. Couldn't verify my insurance so I was told if I paid cash then they would get me all the info to file for reimbursement with my insurance. Not true 8 hours of phone calls and can not get the needed info of procedure code and description because when you cash pay their system doesn't generate one. Eas told 15 to 30 minutes (hour max) to see Dr and 2 and a half hours later finally saw one. Dr prescribed warm compress and eye drops and when it didn't get better I had to see my Dr who said an oral antibiotic should have been prescribed. I filed complaint with better Business Bureau and they responded "call customer serv8ce". I explained I had already spent 7 or 8 hours doing that and they responded "call customer service ". I gave 8n and called and customer service said "sorry I see the notes where you've called before and there's nothing we can do".
Dishonest, unreliable, and not an effective cure.

Pros

I was able to see a Dr about a minor problem from home

Cons

Honest eta to see dr posted while you wait.

Teladoc as an alternative to typical healthcare

Pros

I love the whole idea of Teladoc! To be able to have the opportunity to speak to a doctor, get a prescription filled on a weekend or at night, and the fact that I don’t have to drive when I’m feeling sick, make teladoc an incredible alternative to a visit to the doctors office.

Cons

The app is not very user friendly. It’s simple enough to make your appointment, but the app could use some work. It would be nice to see approximate wait times and to get easier notifications.

Was pleasantly surprised!

Great! I will definitely use them again for basic stuff.

Pros

Was the first time ever using a virtual doctor. My daughter had an ear infection and I figured it was a good time to try it out. The doctor called very quickly and confirmed she had swimmers ear and called in a prescription.

Cons

Because the service was through my husbands insurance I wasn’t able to setup the account for my kids so that was a pain but customer support was great and she explained that his company had it set that way.

Pros

Cons

Unable to log in/create a username. Upon trying to contact customer service to figure out what is wrong, I was hung up on before getting anywhere.🤔 Not sure if it was problem on their end but I was not called back, so I'm assuming intensional.

Great Customer Service

1000% satisfied. Such a prompt response that I didn’t have time to remove my “call protect” the 1st visit I set up so the private number the Dr was calling from got blocked and my appointment was canceled, so upon setting up a 2nd visit I turned off my cal protect and then submitted my request for appt and received a call within less than 5 minutes! BEST customer service EVER!!

Pros

Easy access of their app and extremely prompt responses!

Cons

The only thing I didn’t like was having to miss my first appointment because I didn’t turn off my call protect in time so the Dr’s Private Number would ring though, but I got it off before I submitted my 2nd request 😀

Teladoc forces patients to pay first before they reveal if they even treat the Tela-med treatable ailment (bait and switch). Completely shady.

Pros

The service is fairly easy to use. No complaints

Cons

The issue with Teladoc is bad patient care and shady business practices. The software works well.
