Best Collaborative Whiteboarding Software
Bluescape is a collaborative whiteboarding software that helps me to work together in real-time on projects and ideas. The software enables me to share and access my work from any device, regardless of their location. This feature makes it an ideal tool for remote teams, enabling them to collaborate on the same project in real-time.
Pros
One of the things I liked most about Bluescape is its intuitive interface, which made it easy for me to navigate and find the features I needed. The software also has a wide range of tools and capabilities, such as real-time collaboration, screen sharing, and annotation, which made it great for team brainstorming and project management. Additionally, I appreciated the ability to integrate with other popular tools like Google Drive and Slack, which added to its overall functionality.
Cons
I really like this software, However, I dislike the pricing structure of the software, as it may be considered expensive for small businesses or individual users. Additionally, I found that the software does not integrate well with other tools we are using, which could make it difficult to use in a workflow. I did not like the interface of the software as it may not be intuitive and user-friendly.

Impressions of an new user
I am still discovering all there is to explore in this program but so far, I find Bluescape to be a valuable tool. I have been leaning on Bluescape to provide organizations and collaboration, but it can provide a sense of community to my classroom as well.
Pros
I love the navigational canvas tool. I makes it so much easier to pinpoint items in the space. I would love to see this feature expanded into a folder/group format (similar to psd layers). This way I could group several canvases associated with a singular space.
I also love the grid tool. I allows me to present large documents (pdf) in a visual storyboard format in addition to traditional paged document. As a design instructor, I can spread out my lectures to appeal to visual learners. I would love Bluescape to save me a step and be able to break it out into separate pages for me.
I am excited about the integration with zoom and adobe suite but have yet to try them out.
Cons
I dislike the limitations in the creative tool such as color, shapes, fonts, pen strokes. I find this very limiting. I need more options to work effectively. I'm hoping that these features are built out quickly, for such a robust program the tools are very basic. I also am not fond of the black space. In certain situations, I'd prefer the option of selecting a white space.

A lot of potential, still missing important features and still too buggy.
A lot of potential, still lacking some very useful features and still has sometines unpredictable (buggy) behavior. Will contiue using it hoping that gradually it will improve. Already a big convenience compared to Zoom only meetings & classes.
Pros
* The potential ability to collaborate and keep all the elements in a visually clear virtual workspace: my line of work & teaching is heavily visual and having instant access to all the images in an organized and easy to scroll through environment is very useful.
Cons
* Inability to 'annotate' (draw over) in 'PRESENT' mode. This creates a huge inconvenience for my classes and I have ti revert to using Zoom & share screen for this part.
* The students can't vew the content of PDF documents with 'vewer' only priviledges: they can see only the front page of the document but can not flip through the pages. This goes for Keynote and Power Point as well. Some of the lectures are proprieatary and while I need the students to be able to access them at their own time& convenience for reference, I have to give them 'viewer' status only so they don't download or alter them (a possibility if I invite them as 'editors'). A 'viewer' should be able to view a document or a presentation, not just the front page.
* Still buggy: for example, switching 'leaders' during a meeting does not always work. Even if the participan's list on the left shows the leader we switched to, students still see the screen of the previous leader even if the 'eye' is off. This happens accasionally but not always.
* Aside from 'undo', having a 'redo' option would be very convenient.
* Some students get kicked out of the workspace and can't login: they receive messages that their passwords are incorrect. This can not be the real problem in most of the cases as they use their college credentials and passwords which work just fine on the college servers. The emails from Bluescape with the password reset links or code never arrive (not in the SPAM folder either).

Absolutely Indispensable
When we first went remote, it only took 2 days to get my in person teams into a virtual collaborative environment. I was blown away with the ease and speed of the transition. I used the tool sparingly before and now I use it daily!
Pros
I love how my student teams can collaborate and develop their products/services and then their business plans to launch. The tool allows them to collaborate easily and at the same time see what other students are doing.
Cons
Students are initially cautious about any new tool. But, in no time they are working within their assigned team canvases.

Best Collaborative Tool Ever
Most of my team was initially afraid of Bluescape but now that we've been using it for awhile we are finding more and more uses for it. What started as a presentation tool has become part of our fabric as a company.
Pros
I love that Bluescape keeps my team on track - since we use it for our ongoing meetings and training our new employees have access to several years of collective knowledge in an organized, intuitive workspace.
Cons
Having multiple users dropping in content often means documents are scaled inconcistently. Through training of our users we have gotten better about this.

Good software for the team project
Pros
My instructor uses this software for our team project. It is easy to put all the idea pins, references and writings in one space. And good to see it is updated lively when someone makes some changes.

Great Collaborative Tool
Use it as a central place to keep style information allowing users to access / comment
Pros
Easy / fast to upload images and add comments, relativity easy interface. Easy to access remotely and edit.
Cons
Selecting items on a Canvas can be tricky, no way to easily select items one by one, you have to use the sidebar to change to marque, and even then the selection box will select items other than images you have to de-select (i.e. background box, etc.) Constantly get reconnecting message even when internet is connected fine. Can not zoom out to see entire contents of workspace if you have lots of canvases.

Pros
It’s nice to see everything all at once, watch people collaborate live, and leave comments on others work.
Cons
Every time I use it my computer freezes, if I click wrong while writing then all of my text disappears, the navigation menu is confusing, and to go to a single bluescape board it opens like 3 tabs.

Bluescape Review
Pros
The overall design of the program, how it was like a map and easy to creat and modify.
Cons
For some reason the software only allowed me to edit documents within bluescape, for example I would rather have the software redirect me to Microsoft Word when I select a document.
Response from Bluescape
Brett, thanks so much for your review. Glad to hear you are liking Bluescape and finding it easy to create and modify content. Thanks for your feedback about editing in Microsoft vs. Bluescape - you can absolutely do this. Simply click and open the document in a new window, and you'll be able to edit in the native platform, if you prefer.

Bluescape review by student
Bluescape was a unique experience for me and I liked using it in class wish I could use it other classes more to get more experience I used it in one course for about 5 months. I would definitely recommend professors trying to use it so students get experience in it.
Pros
The ability to have everything on one page right in front is great. You can post pictures to get people's attention and draw them to certain areas.
Cons
When multiple users were trying to click into a document sometimes it would get moved or deleted on accident and that could cause issues for the class. Needs to be a way where users can't move things or remove them accidentally. Unsure if there is modes like this.
Response from Bluescape

So helpful when working from home!
Pros
Bluescape was so helpful when all of our teams were working from home! It allowed us to leave work up for review and collaborate as a team as if we were around one table in the office.
Cons
We have been unable to @everyone and get all team members tagged and this would be so helpful if fixed!

I mostly love Bluescape!
Pros
I can't imagine doing this kind of work without Bluescape. It's so easy to get moving quickly and get everyone on the same page with all the information in the same spots.
Cons
I HATE the little lines it always wants me to draw. I never want to make a connecting line or duplicate a box. I just want to move boxes. Why does it always assume I want a box to be orange with black text? I've literally never wanted that but every single time I make a text box it comes up that way. The dialogue boxes closing after selecting a background color is really annoying too. It should stay open so I can then pick my text color. Too much clicking around.

brainstorming, remotely, that actually works
Incredibly polished piece of software. Virtual meetings if they were designed from the ground up, rather than the camera up.
Pros
The ability to video call with a shared whiteboard that all participants can contribute to at the same time, regardless of their hardware platform, is pretty amazing. It takes those brain storm meetings properly remote without losing the ad-hocness of people being able to contribute like they would if they were in the room with a pen.
Cons
The templates are a bit corporate - this sort of software really excels in the educational environment and more templates designed for that would be great.

It was a wonderful experience getting to meet the Bluescape team virtually as well as in-person. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] were helpful, delightful and generous with their time and resources.
Pros

Cons
The challenges of putting participant into cohort groups. Much trouble could have been avoided with clear instructions to do this, but could there be an easier way?

Bluescape for real teamwork!
Why I use Bluescape every single day:
It is visual and it’s laid out in the way you want to see it.
It is super easy to use.
It is flexible.
It saves me a lot of time.
It’s the best tool to generate real collaboration and innovation as everyone can get involved.
Pros
1. The Visual content of what is shared in Bluescape makes it the most efficient way for everyone in the team to understand and process the ideas. It is well recognized that visual data is processed a lot faster by the brain than text.
2. Teamwork: When everyone can SEE everything, it creates the best environment for ALL to engage and exchange and therefore to come up with amazing solutions/Innovations.
3. Easy to Use: It takes not more than 20-30min to start working with the platform and this is a huge advantage when you want/need to have everyone onboard.
Cons
I don't find part of the platform that I don't like. It augments everything I do/use and I like it.

Bluescape Features
It is a unique tool that sets us apart from others in our industry.
Pros
I like how we can organize our thoughts, processes and weekly project lists. It helps us stay accountable for what we have committed to. I love how there are always some enhancements as well as new features added from time to time. I really like to be able to customize colors and fonts!
Cons
I do not like the cursor tracking feature that was added recently. It is very distracting to our team. Would like to know if it is possible to turn this off. I can see how it could be useful when trying to point something out to a remote user while on the phone.

Game changer for visual creative teams
Having everything laid out in a single space is such an amazing advantage to watch progress and see where we have been. Not having to dig through file names to pull something up has changed the entire approach and ease to the cross pollination of the different aspects of team member's work. Having the entire library of work to choose from at my fingertips has made an amazing change in efficiency and onboarding new crew, and clarifying ideas to active crew.
Pros
Being a remote and international team, Bluescape has been essential to create to space that a art boardroom or story room would, where ideas and images and process can be shared and reviewed together and on one's own time.
Cons
Buggy, lags, the alert system is unreliable or maybe i am not aware of my settings.
Response from Bluescape
Alexander, thanks so much for your review! Love that Bluescape is helping you re-create the art room and story room. That cross-pollination, as you mentioned, is so important. Worth the Investment!
Great experience thus far. I do not use it on a daily basis. However, when I do "Design In Real Time", or display the project / floor plan on the Bluescape screen; the customers are always impressed with the software and ask for us to quote Bluescape just to see if the system will fit within their budget.
Pros
Bluescape is easy to use if you use the software regularly. Great for presentation meetings and Design In Real Time. I love how the presenter / user is able to have Video Conference as well as Draw and write on the screen. In addition, the notes that will be on the screen are able to be stored for later use, emailed to individuals as well as you are able to access your workspace / project file from your mobile app.
Cons
I do not know or have not practice much on Bluescape to have a "Con" comment.

Great collaboration tool
It's been a great tool for our company. It's been super helpful in letting people outside of our general team get a look into what we've been working on. We started using it very casually, but now we use it to present to other teams in the office as well.
Pros
The canvas lets you create a collaboration area in whatever way works for your team and project best. There are very few limitations, and that really helps with quick updates and on the fly collaboration
Cons
The pen tool is a little tricky. I wish you could draw from canvas onto the picture, but instead you can only do one or the other.

Bluescape is essential for remote collabaoration
Really positive. I even had a suggestion for being able to edit comments before they were pinned, and the software developers fixed the problem in like 2 days!
Pros
I like that it allows us to collaborate as designers together, but apart.
Cons
Sometimes the tools (like the pens or erasers) are clunky and hard to find. I know they will be more refined as time goes on. I know this because the tools have gotten a lot easier to use in the last 2 years.

Bluescape – Digital Pin Up Board (Highly Recommended)
Think I pretty much summed it up. Overall...if you don't have Bluescape, you're missing out. Productivity levels will definitely increase. You'll look like a wizard when you master the features. And the tools/features are simple to understand.
Pros
Bluescape is easy and the features are very intuitive. Once you understand the capabilities, the digital pin up board becomes a think tank of ideas, inspiration, a way to show process and a quick way to present in a creative platform. The best part is seeing the "road map" you've created that leads you through (just have to make sure you be organized and systematic about your placement). You can easily access on your phone, tablet and computer. Bluescape offers a touch screen tv that enhances the user experience to another level of productivity. PDF files can be expanded full screen for professional way to present, comments can be written directly and provides access to allowable users. The tool is instrumental to anyone. The blank palette allows for an endless possibility of creation.
Cons
What I least like about the software is that I didn't discover it sooner. Would've made my job more effective in the past. As Bluescape has added features, my experience has evolved to more complex use cases that can only come with the time you put in. Can't wait to see what Bluescape has in store for the future.

Pros

Cons
I am sure it can do video conferencing, but we are usually in another platform and just end up sharing our screen vs having people join through the session. Now that we have a combination of in person and virtual we need to figure out a seamless way to integrate everyone.

Bluescapes Group Functionality
Very fun to learn it’s functional aspects in virtual group work. No real limitations on what can be uploaded and worked on which can bring new uses.
Pros
This software allowed my group to upload all their separate documents into one workspace creating a single area for us all to cite and create or projects. Document sharing and downloads were the most useful aspects of this software.
Cons
This software could get slow when a lot of users are on at once sharing different documents and working but for the most part no cons stuck out to me. Improving on group inclusive tools would be a great improvement.

Too Many Updates Too Close Together
Overall bluescape is great. It plays a big role in our organization. The updates are never anything we seem to need or want. And updates are way too frequent with no clear role out or intro into them.
Pros
It has helped with internal communication. Leadership, All Company and Department meetings all use Bluescape to keep information organized as well as a history. Set agendas are used and updated every quarter. We also use it as a searchable database for photos and documents.
Cons
constant changes, just when i get my company use to one way of doing things you go and change it. way too many text and notecard updates too close together. I strongly feel that updates should be done every 90 days with detailed overview. It makes me crazy and I use bluescape all day every day.

Fan of bluescape!
Pros
I appreciate how it's mostly easy to use, some of the updates have been tricky and to be honest I miss some of the old features. It's great to work as a remote team and see things live
Cons
Sometimes it feels really clunky - features I miss that the team overall found useful:Changing font size by scaling up/down the boxAutomatic sized font- It's very hard and tedious to do manually and make work... And having a "template" doesn't work when the content does not paste in to match the formatting.I also REALLY don't like the dots/lines for charts. That double clicking a box or image will duplicate it out. This should be a separate option/function.

Great emerging tool!
I love using this tool to facilitate the design process and collaborating through a design process. I do wish there was more flexibility on the visual front: I liked being able to change background color of text boxes.
Pros
I love how I can post various file types in one visual place. It's flexibility is fantastic, especially if the user creates some kind of order/template to work within.
Cons
Conversations or too hidden. Comments are not easy to go through - there isn't a way to grab comments and create tasks out of them... or to integrate into a task managment app.

Less intuitive
I liked the previous version of Bluescape better than the current one. One exception is the scaling of canvases.
Pros
Content storage and organization of ideas and supporting documents, all in one place
Cons
Large documents don’t open for sharing. Navigating the canvases is harder now than in the last version. Zooming and panning is annoying now, needs to be more fluid vs clicking off one to start the other. Need the Google images feature back. Need the canvas drop down back. Allow users to select classic Bluescape view vs the current. I choose classic

Helpful tool
I appreciate using bluescape as we are creating anew product, we are able to put everything in one place and communicate within the board
Pros
I think it's fairly using friendly. I like uploading several types of documents or spreadsheets and being able to have it all in one place.
Cons
I accidentally created a whole board in the wrong size and now I don't have an easy way of making it to the standard zoom that is in there.. So when I add notecards they're the wrong size font

Lots of great tools in Bluescape
My experience has been great thus far! There are lots to learn and I am still getting use to the functions but overall, really enjoy the software.
Pros
Being able to make notes directly in the "landscape" as well as attaching screenshots and files is very helpful when having meetings internally and externally. All items entered are stored and easily accessible when the team needs to go back to it. The user experience is easy to navigate. I really like that Bluescape hosts webinars for users so they can learn about new features and tools.
Cons
There have been a couple of times when things entered into the software are not saved. Not sure if this is an internet connection issue or a glitch.

Student
Pros
Communicating with teammates and professor. And it is very nice for a group to gather in Bluescape and work together in one document.
Cons
The difficulty I would say is that at first I was struggle to use it but now I am more use to it. And the con is just whenever I try to zoom in and zoom out I always tend to lost my workplace. And it is hard to find sometime. Other than that I like it and I would recommend other students and professors to use it.

Bluescape for Art College Students
Pros
I like the smart grid and team collaboration feature the most. This allows us to upload our documents on the same page as other classmates and to organize neatly inside the smart grid. I also like how we can “pin” the grids and documents because sometimes, people unintentionally drag other people’s works and mess them up.
Cons
I dislike how the server easily goes down due to heavy access. I understand that this is mainly because of the collaboration feature where many people upload documents on the same page, but I strongly believe that I had better user experience if the pages loaded and scrolled more smoothly.

Multi-functional document review and management
Collaboration between coworkers and clients is the largest asset that Bluescape offers my team.
Pros
The efficiency in which you can create, combine, and edit documents is unparalleled with other programs. Integration into current work space is easy and the collaboration between coworkers through using Studio is invaluable.
Cons
The program is not necessarily intuitive as to where features are found, but online support and Q&A are easy to find solutions.

Educational Setting
Pros
Great way to share course content, love the visual ability to follow the flow of information. Good tools for making class notes that are then accessible to students the entire semester. It definitely aids team collaboration.
Cons
Most of my major critiques have been addressed in updates this past year -- e.g., ability to pin all assets. I would like to see Slack or another messaging platform integrated. Change tracking features are also needed, especially in the educational area where I have 100+ students interacting with the workspace. I would like to know who made what changes at what time.

Making Collaboration Intuitive and Fluid
Using Bluescape has drastically improved the way we digitally collaborate with our customers. It has made the planning and design process more engaging and made the details easier to communicate to people not familiar with our industry and the interior design process.
Pros
I love that the software is so approachable. I am a "super user" within our organization and am responsible for encouraging the use of Bluescape within our development process. It is fairly simple to get customers comfortable enough to begin interacting with a Bluescape session.
Cons
I don't like the way PDF documents render when not selected or activated. They often appear blurry and aliased. It makes them difficult to reference without taking snap shots of every section you're talking about.
