Building custom reports and dashboards is straightforward once you learn the report writer, and everything updates in real time instead of waiting on an Excel export. Basic project tracking is included, but the published capabilities you actually want? Add-on. AI features? Add-on. General journal auto-reconciliation? Add-on. Closing automation? Add-on. Every improvement or new capability they roll out and market seems to come with a separate SKU and another line on the invoice, so the "all-in" cost keeps creeping up well past what you signed for. On top of that, the learning curve is steeper than the sales process suggests, the UI feels dated in places, and support response times can vary depending on who picks up your ticket. > > Intacct is a capable platform and a real step up from entry-level accounting tools, especially for reporting and multi-entity work. That said, the experience comes with a constant asterisk: almost every feature worth having is a separate add-on, and the price tag keeps growing as Sage rolls out new capabilities. You sign for one number and end up evaluating add-on quotes every renewal.
