A top-tier marketing automation service.
With Adobe Marketo Engage, we can now automate our lead marketing cycle and zero in on the most likely customers. As a result, we were able to do more and see better outcomes. The quality of reports must increase. Email layout and scripting are two areas that might use a lot more work. Even though solutions like Integration LaunchPoint are great for processing campaigns and automating other tasks, they may benefit from being more easily integrated with other apps.
Pros
Unlike with competitors like Hubspot and Pardot, users are not limited in the ways they may approach program and campaign administration. Adobe continues to put resources into improving its add-ons and compatibilities. Marketo serves as our central center for all of our marketing efforts, and we're working to integrate Adobe and other natively linked products in the near future.
Cons
Marketo is harder to compete with because of all the moving parts it has. There is also a learning curve associated with making the most of Marketo. Marketo requires a dedicated staff member in order to function properly.

Email marketing with a wide array of versatile features.
When it came to selecting an email marketing platform, I was seeking more extensive options than what Mailchimp provided. A colleague of mine recommended Marketo Engage due to its expansive feature set and capabilities. He was right.

Powerful workflows, but full-time help will be required.
Overall, my experience was poor...though there were a few highlights along the way. Again, the segmentation and workflow actioning that it provides are very powerful. But you're cowed in by a labyrinth of folders and redundant workflow rules that make it very hard to remain nimble once you've built the whole system out.
Pros
Powerful workflows, particularly when attached to lead nurturing email campaigns. If your team keeps a very clean Salesforce or CRM instance, there's an awful lot you can segment and action off of.
Cons
If something is broken in the product, you'd better have a PhD in Marketo in order to track down exactly what it is. The product's usability and assorted tooltips leave a lot to be desired. This is why 95% of Marketo customers have to hire a full-time administrator to wield it. You either know how to use it from deep years of experience, or you're going to have to spend a lot of time figuring it out.

Marketo Engage Review: A Graphic Designer's Perspective
Overall, Marketo Engage is a robust tool for marketers, and while it offers great design-focused features for email campaigns, it can be complicated for graphic designers who prefer simpler, more intuitive platforms. It's ideal for designers working in larger marketing teams but might be too complex for those looking for a more straightforward design tool.
Pros
Marketo Engage offers powerful email marketing and automation tools, allowing graphic designers to create and manage visually appealing email campaigns with ease. The platform’s seamless integration with design assets and its ability to track campaign performance makes it ideal for creating targeted, visually engaging content.
Cons
It can feel overwhelming for designers who are not focused on marketing, as it requires dealing with complex workflows, data, and integrations, which can detract from the creative process. Its interface can also be difficult to navigate, especially for those unfamiliar with its marketing-centric tools.

Definitely one of the top Marketing automation tools out there.
Marketo Engage is our primary email management solution; we process a high amount of messages daily, and the software helps us stay on top of everything while also automating our responses to clients and providing them with a faster turnaround time and more focus. It is also used to handle promotional emails and social media platforms, where we provide all of our products and services in a dynamic and effective manner. In addition, it serves us well in the billing department since it allows us to fully automate the sending of electronic bills to our clients.
Pros
Marketo has some of the greatest email marketing tools I've used, including an intuitive email editor and the option to try out dynamic content. It also provides thorough information on your email's deliverability. In fact, consumers may be graded and scored so that they can be researched and analyzed by different departments, making it a great choice for customer management. The software has a straightforward layout and is comfortable to use. In particular, I'd like to call attention to the reports, as we are able to provide individualized information on the job that is being carried out, and how they may be supplemented by social networks for the purpose of running marketing campaigns with a calendar option and webinars.
Cons
Though I believe Marketo Engage to be the most comprehensive and best-suited solution for businesses today, I believe there is always potential for growth in features like connectivity with Salesforce, and I also believe that we need tutorials. The present learning curve is steep due to the complexity of the interface, which makes it difficult for those with less knowledge to use the program. The in-built reports are highly comprehensive, but they are difficult to analyze, thus we need more tools within the program.

Disappointed of Adobe Marketo Engage
1. Onboarding was not great. After so many months we are still struggling to finalize integration. 2. Customer success rep has no idea how Marketo works, doesn't have access to the platform, cannot truly advise, assess our needs and determine the best course of action. 3. To access consulting, we already paid for it as part of our contract, it takes more than 10 days. 4. Training is very long and not that helpful. 5. Invoices were sent to the wrong email address 6. Account manager seems rather detached, disinterested. I don't see that Marketo cares about its clients. We used Silverpop, Eloqua and lately Pardot (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement). We had much better experience. We switched to Marketo just because Pardot was requiring now also Salesforce license for users and their admin and testing features are really basic. We hoped Marketo will be an upgrade, but it doesn't seem so.
Pros
Admin: ability to limit the number of emails received by a contact within a defined time period; subject line tests; flows can provide some flexibility but only limited; Frankly, we regret the move. Not what we expected from Adobe. Our experience with other products was much better.
Cons
Customer success doesn't use the platform, how they can ensure our success then? Outdated interface, inflexible platform, too complex to be useful when we are asked to do more with less resources. Integration with Salesforce cannot be tailored from the platform (how the data flows or which records to be updated) - competitors offer this for so many years.

Marketo is the Gold Standard of Marketing CRMs in the marketplace!!
My experience with Marketo has been amazing from the sales rep, our implementation specialist, support department and our CSM went over and beyond to make sure we were getting the most value out of the platform.
Pros
I love the deep native integration with Salesforce that allows us to sync data and both company and contact records to communicate through marketing and sync up with our account based marketing campaigns and enabling sales to follow up at the exact right time based on lead scoring and actions take by prospect when consuming our content we deliver in the form of email opens, email clicks and % video views with the amazing integration with Wistia. The Strategies you can deploy are only limited by your creativity as a marketer and sales architect and revenue officer at your company and I absolutely love Marketo!!
Cons
The platform is very robust and takes learning and using it and clearly understand best practices through executional experience running campaigns and this takes an investment of time and it's absolutely worth it and the return on that time investment is the most important revenue driver in our company when combining the power of your sales reps and your sales enablement tool in your tech stack!!

Very powerful, not the most user-friendly tool out there.
We rolled it out 3 years ago and have been very happy with it. There's been some frustration in the business at the turn-around time on Marketing Ops requests, but that's more of a staffing issue and because of the fact that it's not very easy for an end user to just jump in and setup a campaign on their own. If you have good permissions management, use of templates, and at least some experienced admin support it can be an extremely powerful and effective tool. It's not for the faint of heart.
Pros
It is extremely powerful. But as Spider-Man says, with great power comes great responsibility. You definitely want someone who knows what they're doing managing this thing.
Cons
Relatively high cost of ownership. I'd suggest it's best for enterprises or marketing requirements that call for very sophisticated automation. It's not easy for end users to do much self-service, so you'll definitely need an admin with experience. And depending on your workload one or multiple ops specialists up to an entire team.

Can't go wrong with the best MAP - but you need to spend time getting it how you like it
I've been using Marketo for over 2 years and have managed multiple instances, including implementing a new one. It's been great to learn and use. I came from HubSpot and although I loved HubSpot, it was limited in it's capabilities because things are locked down to look "pretty" and work more out-of-the-box. What I say is Marketo is for the "big kids"/enterprise/B2B market and HubSpot is more for the SMB market. Marketo also does well integrating with Salesforce, whereas HubSpot's API integration is very locked down and limited.
Pros
What can't Marketo do? Not much! It's the be-all-do-all tool. Tons of features and customization, integrations and functionality.
Cons
If you are looking for a "pretty" software, don't look here. The interface is dated and harder to navigate if you don't know what you are doing. I always tell people that "Marketo is UGLY, but it's POWERFUL."
What it trades for looks, it makes up for in functionality and customizations.

A little bit outdated but gets the done job
Marketo Engage has been our go-to E-mail tool for years and that probably won't change anytime soon. Overall a positive experience.
Pros
Marketo is a powerhouse when it comes to our email marketing campaigns. We exclusively use this tool to create smart lists and templates for our email campaigns. It's relatively easy to use.
Cons
Marketo Engage has a super outdated interface and a high learning curve for new users. I'd like to see the UI become a little more intuitive. Some of the features like "SEO" for example, are relatively limited in the data they provide.

An excellent Marketing Automation tool and very easy to use
Marketo is expensive but if you want enterprise automation platform and you are heavily focused on automation its the platform to go. You should have one very good marketo expert but once the implementation is done properly it runs very smoothly.
Pros
Marketo is easy to use once implemented well. The set-up, filters, data management etc is very intuitive and caters well to automate customer journey mapping, email marketing, lifecycle management, lead scoring etc. It is easily integratable with most CRM, other analytics tools, social media platforms etc. which makes it easy to build a unified martech stack.
Cons
Marketo's analytics section has very limited customization. Unlike SFDC which is heavy on customization, the same is not possible on Marketo. If yo want to build dashboards etc. you need another tool which is also not very easy with all platforms. Additionally, while the helpdesk is responsive, customer service in general is not as great! They also don't come up with upgrades that often or atleast dont communicate it to customers. Its more self-help system here. Last but not the least, their trainings and certifications are super expensive.

Self sufficient automation
Overall Marketo Engage has helped enhance my advertising greatly. The value the software brings in its ability to essentially run self- automated is invaluable, saving time and targeting the advertisement in a way that is far more efficient than manual work.
Pros
Marketo Engage is your run of the mill advertisement automation service. Marketo Engage also implements AI and allows for extensive use of AI when marketing. This feature is rare in this genre of advertising and helps stand Marketo Engage from its competitors, as will it help your product be advertised in its own unique and memorable way. The AI also helps targets aspects of advertising it considers needs improving and is capable of learning as it goes along, spotting customer trends and clickthrough rate trends. The analytics Marketo can offer also mirror conventional analytics with clickthrough rate and overall views being shown in a clear and simple way for manual improvements to advertising.
Cons
Marketo Engage excels in its AI component. As a result, it is necessary to give the application time to acclimatise to your advertisement style and efficacy. The AI does work best after around 1-2 weeks and so you may not see many effects before then. In order to get the best efficiency, it is also recommended that you use a wide range of Adobe products which could require some business restructuring.

Marketo a Total Integration Tool.
We use Marketo primarily to stop form submission automation as well as data cleansing, and of course we owe Marketo an important part of our automation. We also pay additional money to be able to use their templates and thus create a landing page and of course have the templates within the emails. All this was done at the expense of a long time, which is the main factor to invest in Marketo, but after learning how to use and take advantage of the software in a good way, the results were magnificent.
Pros
Among the many impressive features that Marketo has, its integrations stand out, which are an important factor in obtaining a complete service that fully satisfies the requirements of the company, has integrations with many different software and also has the ability to integrate with third parties to through Zapier making it a full integration tool. The user interface is very flexible and can be configured according to the data flow of the company or the portfolio of clients and potential clients. Through Marketo, much of the information that reaches the company can be automated, thus bringing the data to Salesforce in a clean way.
Cons
It has a somewhat long learning curve that makes it essential to have some help before being able to use the program to its full potential, so technical support plays a preponderant role in the software. In addition, the system must be configured through an API connection, which makes it quite a cumbersome process. Although the interface has great flexibility, it can be confusing when starting out due to its main focus, which is undoubtedly the database for the software, but once learned it is a fast path to success.

My experience with Marketo
Pros
Marketo is a great marketing tool that allows automating repetitive marketing activities. I am using Marketo since 4 years.
We use it to improve our lead generation process and we integrated Marketo with Salesforce. We are using Marketo Forms embedded on our website to get the personal information, track the activities done by leads and notify the sales reps. We are able to track campaigns (members are synced to Salesforce campaigns) and lead sources to measure effectiveness of marketing activities. We created a series of program templates that can be replicated to manage events, webinars, newsletters or email blastings. Cloning the templates all our marketers can start a new program easily customizing just the details, without errors and saving time. I want to mention a powerful feature that I use daily - smart lists - they allows to target a specific audience and continuously been fed with new members that match the criteria.
Cons
- Integration with MS Dynamics: we started with MS dynamics CRM and the integration is not seamless as the integration with Salesforce. We had unresolved issues for 3 years until we decided to move our CRM to Salesforce.
- Consulting Services: we started our project with direct Marketo consulting services but our project manager was not responsive and we had the impression that each PM had too many customers to manage and do not have the time to dedicate the right effort to each project. For this reason, we moved our project to an external consultant firm and the results are much better.
- Support: the response time of the standard support is not quick and usually it takes some days to resolve it.
- Landing pages: it is missing a validation workflow on the thank you pages (to be sure that those who will access the thank you page have successfully filled-out the form included in the landing page)
- Reporting: the reports are very basics

Best-in-class Marketing Automation Solution
Pros
Marketo is the "Porsche with a manual transmission" of marketing automation platforms. It's full of cool features and is incredibly powerful. The strengths: 1) Workflow flexibility that is unmatched by other platforms. Building complex data management, lead scoring, and organizational processes (such as lead routing) is very achievable in Marketo. They basically give you every function they can possibly code and let their customers piece them together as they like (more on this in #7). 2) The engagement programs, primarily meant for lead nurturing, are truly best-in-class. It's a little bit of an adjustment at first, but it really simplifies complex nurturing tracks and saves marketers from putting prospects into multiple tracks at once (which happens more than most admit) 3) The vision is impressive. Marketo has a clear, long-term vision that they continually deliver on. Examples being advances in personalization, ABM, ect. I'd bet on them to lead the way (or buy the way via Vista ) to whatever is next in marketing automation, such as AI or machine learning.
Cons
I love Marketo. But, there are some things I don't love. 1) The landing page builder has made improvements but still, leaves some to be desired. Unless a template available for import matches what you'd like to do, you pretty much have to hire a developer to build your templates. 2) The reporting is somewhat overhyped. They REALLY sell revenue cycle analytics, but in reality, it's tough to implement and even tougher to accurately maintain. Since data is essentially timestamped and not stored in an external record (i.e. like Salesforce has for a campaign member), if you mess it up, you're SOL. Marketo's advice to me was "don't mess up."

Marketo - great marketing automation for larger marketing teams.
When going through the demos & getting pricing from the Sales team make sure to fully understand their pricing. They've changed their pricing model in the past 18 months to be more a la carte so some features you may really like are additional costs. Depending on the size of your database this can start to really add up.
Marketo is not suitable for small marketing teams as it requires a ton of set up time & ongoing work to fully leverage its capabilities.
Pros
Easy to track different engagement programs at every stage across multiple steps.
Robust criteria for building lead nurturing.
Like their lead scoring feature - great way to segment leads based on how they interact with you.
Their real-time personalization feature is impressive. Great feature once it's configured correctly.
Cons
The email builder is pretty basic.
Leveraging the full capabilities requires a full-time internal resource.
Steep learning curve. We needed to invest in a Marketo specialist to help with integration.
Marketo is super expensive & that's before taking the extra cost of hiring a Marketo Specialist to help with implementation.

Awesome solution for managing marketing campaigns all form one place
Marketo's made it so much easier to run, monitor, and report on our marketing efforts. We have it synced with our social channels, ad channels, and email and SMS platforms. It's main benefit has definitey been the time we've saved with it. Without it, we'd have to design and run our campaigns all by hand, whereas now, you can just whip up a campaign and run it across several platforms with one click. Other than that, it performs relatively well, has a lot of integrations, and isn't too overly priced. Would definitely recommend overall.
Pros
1. We didn't have to set up a single API connection to integrate Marketo with our marketing platforms. We were able to connect our tools with it very very quickly thanks to the native integrations.
2. The campaign monitoring works great and has a lot of customization options. We can easily navigate between campaign types and we were able to add a lot of additional metrics onto the reports that weren't available out of the box.
Cons
There's the odd issue with reports syncing late or not workng properly, but other than that, we haven't had anything that caused much trouble so far.

This platform offers a variety of tools to properly target our audience, create emails with visually attractive landing pages and analyze the results of the campaign, this gives us a better visualization of performance. The best part is that it is quite intuitive, making it accessible to both new and advanced users.
Cons
The cost can be high, which could be a concern for smaller businesses. Additionally, the wide range of features can be a bit daunting for newcomers as it takes some time to learn and get used to.

Basic Use Cases are Great. Integrations with other systems, - less so
Basic use case has been great. Integrating with other systems - less so.
Pros
Basic email marketing and marketing automation tasks can be accomplished with minimal assistance from the technical team.
Cons
Pricing is by record in the DB, so you have to either pay for records that you are not doing anything with, or build a mechanism to move them in and out.Integrations with other systems are troublesome and rarely work as expected. For example, Microsoft Dynamics has a connector, but it only works if the record doesn't already exist in Marketo. Defining an audience in Dynamics for use in Marketo then has to be a hand-coded affair. Very annoying.
