> SimSolid is a software that provides simulation technology for engineers, designers, and analysts. It eliminates meshing and geometry preparation.
Design scenarios can be simulated under real-life conditions. Early CAD models can be used in any common format. SimSolid offers a tolerance of imprecise geometry which means that unlike CAD-embedded simulation tools, there won't be a need to simplify complex geometries before analyzing designs.

SimSolid supports all connections (bolt/nut, bonded, welds, rivets, sliding) and analysis of linear static, thermal, modal properties along with other more complex coupled, transient and nonlinear dynamic effects. The software provides simulation power to help quicken engineering decisions, SimSolid also aids with the faster development of quality products to beat competitors to market.

## Reviews

### "Simsolid" — 3.0/5

> **George** | *15 July 2023* | Automotive | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Easy to use geometrically model without mesh. Easy to use local 9n laptop for complex models.
>
> **Cons**: Should be added something related by explicit analysis, but I guess Is not easy. And perhaps in future something related by an interface with a deep learning model.

-----

### "Lots of functionality\!" — 4.0/5

> **Nathan** | *23 February 2024* | Automotive | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: I like the non-linear analysis that SimSolid allows.
>
> **Cons**: There is no easy way to transition from Solidworks Simulation. Seeing what materials are applied takes too many clicks.

-----

### "Pros and Cons of SimSolid" — 5.0/5

> **woosik** | *17 July 2023* | Chemicals | Recommendation rating: 0.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It belongs to HyperWorks products. It's easy to get an education, and the price isn't bad.
>
> **Cons**: It is different from the program you are used to.

-----

### "Awesome Product\!\!\!" — 4.0/5

> **Pranav** | *17 July 2023* | Information Technology & Services | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: I am very impressed with SimSolid, I have used a lot and I recommend my clients also for preliminary check.although it cant replace the FEA results, but it gives a nice understanding about the product which has large number of parts and its material library is very useful.
>
> **Cons**: GUI should be changed to "Altair New generation GUI" it will dominate easily once this is done.
>
> Great\! so far.

### "Recommended for rough estimations and visualizations" — 4.0/5

> **Jacob** | *2 December 2021* | Automotive | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: SimSolid has a very fast and straight forward setup process which helps a lot to get a first impression of a systems behavior. The results are good enough for rough estimations and visualizations especially when you are looking at something "new".
A real benefit is also the fast and reliable auto contact definition algorithm. Even models with several hundred parts can be set up within 1 hour.
>
> **Cons**: The results can be very inaccurate depending on the problem. And to very the error can be very difficult because to do convergence study you have to run the model from the beginning every time. So solver and solution control are definitely a weak spot and can be further improved. Also the model discretization for results visualization sometimes looks very rough and there is no control for that (created a ticket already).
