The EDD Processing modules are robust and customizable. I like that the labs can load data directly into the holding table for my review and processing. The sophisticated Validation Module helps ensure adherence to our QA policies and makes my job easier. Once loaded, there are different ways to query the data and format the output including GIS maps, charts, and standard results tables that are easily exported. > > **Cons**: It's easy enough to upload data, but make sure it's accurate because it's not so easy to make global changes. There are functions to change certain fields, and you can upload files to overwrite existing entries, but sometimes the best method is to go through the Help Desk. That said, the Help Desk is responsive in fulfilling these requests. > > Locus EIM has been instrumental in helping us meet our state and local reporting requirements for Groundwater, Storm Water, and Industrial Wastewater. EIM is able to generate a chain-of-custody to meet each sampling functions needs, check to assure data files are properly formatted, and store data in a retrievable manner for a demonstration of regulatory compliance during an inspection. > > **Cons**: Staff users have noted that the software can be a little difficult to maneuver through and that it is not too forgiving if errors are entered into the system. I would have like to have had calculation routines already set up in the EIM software to run emissions calculations with the ability to store that information for reporting purposes; however, this is a function that we have been assured we can contract and havebuilt into our system. > > Overall LOCUS EIM is providing us with the ability to have a cloud-based data system that is compliant and functional with today's ever changing software technology. The transition to this system from our old one has improved the stability of the data and is making cross-training very easy for our team.
