Great product!
Overall, BrewPlanner has been a great option for us at this stage of our growth. We brew kombucha, not beer, and it has been easy to adapt for our products. I highly recommend BrewPlanner if you are looking to get a better handle on your production schedule and inventory planning.
Pros
BrewPlanner is easy to use, visually intuitive, and offers knowledgable & authentic support to its customers. Working with them has been a consistently positive experience, as they are always striving to improve and develop options to better serve their customers.
Cons
There isn't an app version, which has slowed adoption by production workers.

Planning Brew with Brew Planner
Overall good. We don't utilize nearly as much as is offered however what we use it for, we like it.
Pros
The ease of use, multiple teams can access and see it.
Cons
Moving beers around seems to get glitchy, when extending the residence times in tanks sometimes you have to scroll around a lot to find the point in which changing the tank time is allowable

EkosReasons for Switching to BrewPlanner
Cost was a big thing, Ekos had more features than we needed thus wasted money on the subscription.Response from BrewPlanner
Thank you for your review, Benjamin!
One strategy that many breweries use when trying to make space for extending residence times is to create an additional column as a place holder for brews that are getting moved. Reach out to [email protected] if you'd like to discuss that option further.
Cheers!

Good Platform with Room To grow
A good intro to basic brewery production planning with plenty of options for the small brewer but more complex and complicated brewhouse-ops requiring a higher level of "work-arounds" to accommodate planning.
Pros
With the free price tag this is tough to beat in regards to brewhouse production planning. Aesthetically pleasing and fairly intuitive layout. There is decent amount flexibility and expansion to adapt to most small-moderate size brewing operations. Once you get a hang of user interface workflow becomes increasingly easier.
Cons
Seems to still be in Beta phase. A few operation glitches (occasionally planned brewing cycles wont save). On the fly changes due to brewing snafus or irregularities seem cumbersome to accomodate. No integration with other management tools (that I can see)
Response from BrewPlanner
Thank you for your review, Seth. We are continuing to develop our pro version that will include more features and eventually integration with other systems and tools. We always welcome any feedback or suggestions that will help inform the best way to implement these features.
We can also schedule a video call any time to discuss a specific scenario you're finding cumbersome to accommodate.
Please reach out to [email protected] anytime with questions or feedback. Cheers!

Brewplanner for a joint brewery/winery/distillery
It's been really great forecasting and planning tool, although our production is getting a little big and complicated for it. Price is amazing for what you get. We have not used the inventory or sales side. It's hard to find software that does this in the correct way for the Finnish authorities. We use another service for this so i have not really looked into it. Search function was not very good. even searching for brew dates or past lot numbers seemed difficult.
Pros
Visually, brewplanner has been excellent. We have run Monday morning staff meetings, focusing on brewplanner dashboard for 3 years now. It's easy to forecast and plan brews and packaging runs. We use the notes sections to assign tasks to staff.
Cons
Some bugs now and then. Some staff found that their updates (especially notes) would disappear.
Response from BrewPlanner
Thank you for your review, Simon. We're happy to hear that BrewPlanner has facilitated your communication and forecasting!
Please be sure to let us know at [email protected] if you ever experience issues like notes disappearing so we can get it resolved!
Cheers~

Brew planner is excellent
Pros
We love the timeline view rather than the Birds Eye tank view others implement. Brewing is never an exact schedule and being able to shift things around easily is very convenient and effective. We use it frequently in team meetings to forecast production and plan exact dates for product release. It’s amazing in that way!
Cons
We’ve had issue expressing our concerns with how the software functions and it being heard by the company. 3 years in and we’ve not seen any of our feedback implemented. We’ve also had many occurrences of batches disappearing or many edits not saved correctly. For the software team: we use icons A LOT and you’ve stated that it’s the corner stone of your UI and keeping it simple. To our point when we started using your system icons were easy in that when we extended or contracted the schedule the icons would adjust accordingly(mainly the packaging days at the end of brites or the transfer days at the end of fermentation), but an update was made a while back and now we find ourselves making A LOT of clicking to keep icons placed correctly. It has made things a lot less convenient. Also, PLEASE make the icon dropdowns alphabetical or customizable order. Thank you!
Response from BrewPlanner
Hi Cody,
Thank you so much for your review- we're happy to hear that it has facilitated your forecasting and visualization!
We always appreciate feedback and requests from our customers. The icon behavior that you have mentioned was changed because it was resulting in other issues. We have added it back to our backlog to see if we can find a solution to bring it back since that was such a useful feature.
Please reach out to us at [email protected] any time you experience an issue such as edits not saving correctly so we can get it resolved right away.
We have also added the icon request to the backlog. In the meantime, we wanted to make sure you were aware that you can select exactly which icons appear in each section from the "Icons in Sections" page. This allows you to remove any icons that are not used in your brewery.
Thank you again for your review and we will be in touch when we have an update! Cheers~
