BestNotes to organize your mind !!

So far I have had to install this system to more than 30 people and none have expressed unwanted comments about the operation and operation of the system. They are very satisfied customers because of the way they organize medical information and how they access it.

Pros

BestNotes is a cloud based health or medical records system. Conceptualized for small and medium clinics.

BestNotes offers applications for mobile devices on Android and iOS.

Cons

BestNotes has managed to satisfy the need to solve the complex task of managing patient documents. It is a software that covers all the administrative aspects to handle medical documents.
It has a practical, simple and fast search systems. Its interface has the information well ordered so that the medical authority can make a diagnosis. The more medical history a patient has, the order of visualization of the data is decisive for a diagnosis and this system does it very well.

Served our clinic well overall

Out team has been pleased with the functionality overall. We are anticipating the web/cloud-based version to roll out soon.

Pros

The availability of so many features. The specialty is mental health, so it has just about anything you could need for a mental health/counseling clinic.

Cons

The layout is not the most intuitive and there is no cloud version (yet), only the client/app you must install.

I used Epic in the past and it was much more intuitive.

Pros

I like that if you go between Reports, Contacts, Calendar - it retains what you were previously looking at.

Cons

Decent-enough Notes

Overall, I enjoy using BestNotes for the documentation and clean look. It is user friendly and uncomplicated, making it an easy transition for new providers to learn during their first 90 days. I do wish there were additional options to ease communication and scheduling with clients. Scheduling can be a big barrier for clients getting services, as providers are quite busy and cannot answer their phone any given moment.

Pros

Seems pretty user friendly. Quick access to staff calendars. Templates are straightforward and can be updated, as needed, easily. Documentation processes are not complicated. Reports helpful to daily/weekly/monthly tasks and tracking.

Cons

Inability for clients to request appointments/cancellations/reschedules through the platform while looking at availability on provider calendars. Inability to communicate with clients or vice versa through the platform. Across the board, this would be an extremely useful feature and one reason our agency has looked into other EHR platforms.

A great system!

Pros

We've been using BestNotes at our counseling agency for over 10 years, and it has streamlined our processes. By far the most outstanding feature is the exceptional customer service--every time we call with a question or need assistance, the BestNotes support team is not only prompt, but incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Online support tickets are processed in a timely manner as well.

The system is customizable, allowing us to tailor documents to our specific needs. Additionally, the billing process is superb. It's smooth, user-friendly, and has simplified our billing process. Best Notes has made our billing easier and has helped us to reduce errors.

Cons

While Best Notes offers a high degree of customizability, there are a few limitations that could better support our specific workflow needs. For example, automatic review reminders and the inability to customize a daily schedule printout would enhance our office operations. Additionally, having the ability to adjust the viewing windows would be a valuable feature for staff conducting quality assurance checks.

Best Notes review Blaine Murray

Five years of using the application for the company I contract for and I really have no complaints. The goal is to document efficiently with maximum transparency and BN facilitates that.

Pros

Ease of use. I've used BN for 5 years now and the interface hasn't undergone major changes, which has allowed me to efficiently document without relearning an application.

Cons

Some calendar items can be difficult to delete. There is a calendar item from last year that someone else created accidently that I've been unable to delete.

Appreciation for BestNotes

Pros

It is an easy to use system that has everything I need to document my sessions as a counselor. I really appreciate that it has telehealth services and appointment reminders built right in; this makes it really convenient. The staff when you call BestNotes support are highly knowledgeable and work hard to resolve any challenges I run into.

Cons

A lot of my clients struggle with setting up & navigating their patient portals. I get frequent phone calls with questions regarding what to do.

Exceptional Orientation Experience

I am able to move quickly through a note while I am with a patient with very little effort and this allows me to focus more on the content of the appointment, and less on charting. My patients are navigating the patient portal with ease, and I love the way their answers to questions during registration auto-populate into the note! The combination of comprehensive content, and the feature of integrating DSM-V criteria into my diagnosis, makes my note look amazing!

Pros

I find BestNotes very easy to use, and it makes both common and clinical sense when you navigate the system. I have used six different EHRs while working various Locums Tenens jobs, and they are often complex to learn without added benefit for use.
For my Private Practice, I evaluated several EHRs that ranged from moderate to expensively priced and there were pros/cons to all of them.
One of the most annoying issues I ran into when considering software was that there were often "training packages" to purchase that dictated how many hours of orientation and training you could have.
I was told by a friend that uses BestNotes for Psychiatry and Addictions Treatment to look into BestNotes as she thought it was the easiest EHR she had ever used (she works for a large Hospital system and has her own practice). I looked into BestNotes and was very impressed with what it has to offer, and at a very affordable price.
What really impressed me about BN was the excellent Customer Service from the first contact, to completing my orientation for implementation.
I was given unlimited hours to learn the system at no additional cost. I had an amazing trainer "[SENSITIVE CONTENT]" who was knowledgeable, patient, and accommodated my busy schedule for weeks! In addition, not only did [SENSITIVE CONTENT] assist me with customizing auto-notes and templates, she actually taught me how to make changes for myself so that I can make improvements/adjustments independently. I can't say enough about the experience!

Cons

I think that there are always improvements that every EHR can make, however BestNotes is a robust and easy to use system. I appreciated their openness to hear input about how they could make changes, and their eagerness to let me know what changes are already in the works!
More focus on the billing/clearinghouse integration would be beneficial, however this appears to be coming in the future.

Response from BestNotes

Thank you for your positive feedback. We're glad to know that you have been enjoying BestNotes and find it easy to use. We work closely with our users and regulators to make sure that our software is compliant with the highest standards in the behavioral health and addiction treatment industries. Additionally, we include unlimited training and support in every license agreement and keep our prices low, so that you can be confident using our software!

Born and Raised on Best Notes

Overall, I felt like I enjoyed it. It was the first EHR system that I was trained on, which made it hard to compare to anything else. I thought that it was a great way to keep track of everything I needed to.

Pros

I liked being able to access and modify my schedule quickly as needed. It was easy for my supervisor to also see what I was doing. We would often need to cross reference different client's files, and it was easy to do so.

Cons

Visually, it wasn't very appealing. It was also sometimes not very user friendly. Luckily, we had a great coworker who was able to make a lot of critical changes to templates, and to our system that made it much faster and easier!

Pros

BestNotes makes it so easy to do all of our document tracking, document storing, charting notes, and billing, in one location. The team is very quick to respond and help answer questions and/or make changes to make it an even better fit for your personal team.

Cons

I don't have any complaints. It is easy to use and learn and has been a huge asset.

Pros

I love how user friendly it is. It's easy to move around and complete tasks and easy to train staff on. So much easier than any other systems we have used.

Cons

Probably that the examples on the training websites don't always match what is actually there. Like they make updates to the system but forget to update the examples in the training area so they look different.

I've had a very good experiences with Best Notes, the setup is great for time saving especially doing end of shift reports.

Pros

Easy to navigate, Best Notes alerts you to possible mistakes, especially on the medical end for unrealistic vital information.

Cons

Frequency of password change, seems like it changes at the most inopportune times.

Great EHR overall

It is a great EHR program that is user-friendly, fairly customizable, and easy to access if you do not have multiple facilities or programs to access.

Pros

The user-friendly interface is great to work with. There are clear fields for what I need.

Cons

I don't like that I cannot close out of one facility and quickly enter another. I have to close out of the app/program and re-login under the new credentials.

very helpful and easy to use

I like Best notes, I think it is well rounded, helpful, and I am used to using it and my only complaint is small glitches. It feels confidential and I dont worry about HIPPA

Pros

I like Its easy log in, it being Its own app. LOVE that it autosaves, and how easy it is to sign, use notes, and use the ledger.

Cons

It has many glitches. For example I often have to log out and log back in as it doesnt let me click the "med/clinical." This is often quite frustrating

Bestnotes user friendly review

Useful in many ways and thorough with information needed as well as smooth process with training to learn more functions.

Pros

I love that you can create a Q-log and it will directly notify the person needing that information. Also I love the in depth layout of a clients diagnoses as well as any meds or allegories. Very useful for information needing to be released to other staff.

Cons

In my opinion I haven’t saw any cons to using the system. I have only ever worked on BN emr so I cannot give a thorough answer on this.

BestNotes is good overall

My overall experience has been good, except the times when things get closed without saving.

Pros

Once you learn the system it is easy to use. I like that you can customize your dashboard.

Cons

Therapy notes to not automatically save and if a note is accidentally closed you lose everything. Also, as a therapist I would like to have a separate master treatment plan, not combined with other service MTP.

Best Notes Review

I really enjoy Best Notes, I think it's really user friendly and the reports that can be ran are great. I know there is a lot more to learn about it as well.

Pros

I like the color coordination of appts, the ability to pin notes and seeing multiple schedules at once in an orderly way

Cons

The reminder texts are often the wrong time zone, I would like to be able to go to a clients chart by clicking on their name from the 'tasks'

Cons

I don't like when the program experiences glitches but this is universal to all software.

Great Platform.

my overall experience with best notes is good. I like many of the features that are provided and not much i would want to change.

Pros

Lots of features are easily intuitive and make notes easier esspecially for recurrent clients. My favorite feature is linking BN with my personal calendar, It makes life much easier.

Cons

There is a learning curve for all of what BN can do. It takes a while to use BN to its full potiential.

BestNotes at a small agency

Give your clinical and support staff enough time and training to get used to the transition to the EHR. Make sure you have a couple of power users on the team to assist others, and set very clear expectations in advance on how your team is to use the product, especially with the treatment planning and calendar features. I suggest having a learning community rather than simply trainings because staff got overwhelmed and didn’t recall what was learned.

Pros

We were able to get through a CARF survey with not a lot of difficulty. The product made it easy for the consultant and auditor to evaluate the charts. It also makes it simpler to set and track charting metrics for the clinicians.

Cons

You will pay extra for using features you need like Outcome measures and telehealth. It would be helpful to be able select a date range in a chart for the purposes of releasing records.
