A professional open source ERP
My experience using ERPNext has been gratifying since I got to know it, it really is a professional tool that continues to be updated daily and creating new modules thanks to hundreds of independent developers who contribute their grain of sand.
Pros
ERPNext is a professional ERP that has integrated several tools for the accounting management of a company, has several modules and integrations and is intended for different types of companies from small to large, its main advantage is that it is FREE CODE and can be hosted on your server or in the cloud at no cost, is highly customizable once you understand the program interface, the multi-company and if you have any problems or concerns you can solve it in the forum they have.
Cons
ERPNext as well as having benefits also has small points against and the main one is the installation you must have a very good knowledge of linux to install on a server, although they also have hosting plans, integration with e-commerce platforms has several shortcomings for its operation must be adapted and modify the code for use in South America..
Reasons for Choosing ERPNext

An experience using ERPNext in a hardware product startup in the E-Mobility Space
Pros
The fact that the software is well integrated with a wide variety of modules. Other ERP systems would end up with us having a multitude of different softwares each handling their own niche, and all tied together by just Single Sign On.
Here, I am able to provide everyone in the company with a login to the ERP system and have access to not just ERP features, but also Project Management, a Wiki and a Learning Managment System.
Cons
The HR and Payroll Module can improve quite a bit. The way incentive payments are handled require external programming to design an automated performance based pay. Leaves are also not mutable if a mistake was made during the Leave Policy Assignment which was realised only half-way through the year. This also doesn't allow for a leave policy for a person to be changed in the middle of the leave policy period. This is quite important considering the constant switching of employees between Work From Home, Hybrid and Remote, each of which will have a different leave policy within the company.
Reasons for Switching to ERPNext
Odoo looked like it had way too many sub-modules which seemed like quite a bit of effort to put together. The monolithic structure of ERPNext looked good at the time, but it seems like ERPNext is going down the smaller app route now. SAP was just out of our reach in terms of Budget.- Industry: Information Technology & Services

Easy to use, and highly customizable, but plauged by bugs.
The product has great potential! I wish the frappe org would focus more on all the technical debt, rather than new features. Unfortunately, they generally get paid for new features by customers, not for fixing bad code.
Pros
I love the ability to customize forms, while it could be easier, it sure is nice to make changes without code.
Cons
Bugs. Unfortunately, open source means that some code is not high quality. Another factor is the poor management of Git pull requests. I've created several bug fixes that languished until deactivated by automated robot after a month or two with little response from product owners. Many of these bugs are quite serious, particularly around the payroll module. Many, less serious and obvious issues, exist over major versions without resolution.
Reasons for Switching to ERPNext
I liked the customization and the project management modules. I extensively use time-sheets and project costing, which doesn't exist or is premium with other products. In the past, I've supported larger products such as MS Dynamics GP, which had a poor interface when compared to ERPNext.- Industry: Computer Software

The best choice for teams that have some technical knowledge in house
The community is vibrant and fast. There are telegram messenger groups for live communication. There is a super active forum platform. And there is a structured and well maintained github project. If you want to be part of this community, it's easy to get rolling.
Pros
The extensibility and flexibility of ERPNext is unrivaled. Every field you create becomes instantly available as an API point in the powerful interface of the ERP software. All relevant core features of an ERP system are mature and help you learn to do it the right way as a company. The team is rigid and consequent in making sure, that this streamlined process of creating opportunities, quotations, sales orders and sales invoices is kept intact which is very healthy and keeps customizations sane.
Cons
ERPNext is not yet easy and straight forward to use. If you have no idea of ERP software and you have no technical skills at all this is not for you. I would love to see the team focus more on the UX of the interface and the ease of use for new and very occasional users. The software feels like it's really made for experts and daily users. That said, we have compared ERPNext with Salesforce and SAP and the open source solution really shines in comparison. But having all the ERP world suck at UX does not mean that this is an unsolvable problem. Also the documentation of ERPNext is not job or use case driven and very technical at times. We have started to try to help this. But it's easy to ask and not so easy to deliver. Work in progress ...
Reasons for Choosing ERPNext
We compared ERPNext and other solutions with our best of breed approach that had and still has a bunch of different solutions. The challenge with this is that data is scattered across multiple systems making it very hard for employees to get the full picture. Trying to tie this together via the APIs of the best of breed solutions was cumbersome and did not really work. So we decided to get ERPNext as our central place for data and single source of truth for structured data.Switched From
Salesforce Revenue CloudReasons for Switching to ERPNext
ERPNext is very flexible and extesible through the API. We do have technical skills both for DevOp and for software development in house. And working against Salesforce or SAP would have been much more limited. Also the incredibly high licensing costs for our team of 150 people drove us towards ERPNext. We now heavily invest in the community and still save on license costs significantly.

Most flexible ERP
One of the best ERPs for a mid-sized company.
Pros
ERPNext is all in one suite and hence most of the issues related to data structure are resolved at the beginning itself if the implementation is done for all the modules at one go. Secondly, customization options are almost limitless and you don't need to be from an IT background to carry out some of the basic changes as per your business requirement. Document flow and control are also very easy to learn and implement giving you the requisite flexibility of each function which does help in the implementation.
Cons
Except that stock and account ledgers do not offer monthly/quarterly/yearly reports and no comparison of the ledgers can be done with the previous period, there is nothing that can be negative for ERPNext.

ERPNext Software Review
After a failed attempt to transition from Tally ERP to Odoo software due to our complex business process, we were able to successfully integrate ERPNext software into our organization. ERPNext has been in use at our company for the past two years, and we recommend it to small and medium-sized enterprises that need to use project, inventory and production modules frequently.
Pros
- Simple and easy-to-use interface.
- Open-source ERP software, no licensing cost required.
- Customization is simple and requires no coding.
- Simple to configure according to business needs.
- Simplified reporting system.
- Well-maintained and actively supported.
Cons
- Big enterprises are not recommended.
- The software is not suitable for anti-free software organizations.
- Still a newcomer to the market, and has yet to earn the trust of businesses.
- Customized versions have upgrade issues.
- Complex setup for roles and permission management.
- The documentation can be further improved.

Fully featured and customisable ERP system
Pros
The ease of use of the web interface is excellent. It's easy to see the status of a document at a glance and to move it to the next step of the process.
Information entered in one area is automatically available elsewhere, such as contact information, shipping addresses, etc. It's all so well integrated.
As well as being integrated it's also very customisable. Fields can be added to any document for any purpose. Custom scripts can be added to perform automated tasks.
Cons
I found it quite a steep learning curve for setting up the system; creating and importing all the details for the component parts we use and creating the Bills of Materials. But once it's done (correctly!) it's a breeze to use.
Using the system to calculate how much of a product it is possible to manufacture and for what date is not straightforward. This area of the system needs some attention from the development or documentation teams.
In some ways the flexibility of the system is a disadvantage. There can be many different ways to accomplish the same thing, but they will have slightly different effects on other parts of the system. There does need to be a "recommended" and "standard" method of doing certain things which is given in the documentation.

ERPNext the best
I feel proud that I selected a feature rich product at value for money. But still I fear about fewer service providers. Reliability of service providers is high so the successes of implementation depends highly upon their service. Also we faced a critical threatening problem (data got deleted automatically).Luckily overcame as our partner was supportive.
Pros
1.Easy to understand modules
2. GREAT FEATURES
3. Easy to implement once deployed.

Satisfied with performance but expensive for small companies.
Pros
I love how easy and speedy we can make quotations for our customers and the professonal look of the documents they get from our company.
Cons
My company is very small and sometimes I feel the software is too big for our needs, I believe a light version with cheaper cost could be ideal, in fact with the new pricing structure I will probably need to find another affordable option in the future, these days with our economy suffering due to a post pandemic crisis and the current unneeded war we need to save on everything in order to survive as a company.

I have been using ERPNext in my business very effectively to track inventory (and serial numbers) across multiple warehouses. I appreciate the ability to repack and to maintain delivery and installation information.
Pros
The Team is constantly improving this software and listening to their user base. I can almost always find an answer to my questions in the community forums. I look forward to new features.
Cons

Probably most powerful software ever made
Pros
- Extremely flexible engine. You can define any process in the world without knowing any programming. My team which has implemented this does not know programming at all. We were able to manage entire implementation only through customisations.
- Doctype concept they have used is extremely powerful and flexible.
- Quite a detailed documentation with ample videos and webinars (also available on youtube).
- Extremely strong accounting background.
- Same can be used for as many user roles you want. Can be used by start-ups as well large organisations.

- Bank integration missing
- Scope for improvement on CRM like Zoho. Though existing CRM data management is very strong.

Better purchase, inventory and production management. Better interoperability between different departments- Sales, Accounts and Production. More importantly better adherence standard BOMs.
Pros
- Based on the Frappe framework, it makes it easily customizable
- Neat and responsive UI
- Great for manufacturing with Multilevel BOMs, managing multiple production departments
- No vendor lock in. The software 100% open-source. It provides great security to small scale businesses.
- Community driven and transparent approach to development
Cons
ERPNext user manuals should cover more number of use-cases. They typically cover the standard use-case.
Compared to products like Tally or SAP awareness of ERPNext in India is still low, end-user confidence and acceptance has to be essentially be established with trials.

Great product if you have a good internal IT team
Good product. Technically it is evolving beautifully. I have seen it since 2015. I am very positive about its future.
They need to work on building a strong partner network who can handhold the users, train and coach them. Just providing great tech is not enough, implementation and ongoing consulting/ coaching of users is MUST.
Pros
The product is well conceptualised, and superbly designed for a small-medium firm. Their Open Source approach is great and provides tremendous value for money.
Cons
Reporting is not user friendly. Tables are not easily readable and the scrolling is painful.
Finance module is not designed keeping in mind Indian Chartered Accountants. They find it cumbersome and ask the firm to maintain data in their favourite Tally. This has to be addressed.

Most Efficient ERP
Pros
Free and Open Source
Being a FOSS lover, the best part I see with ERPNext its a truly fully open souce, you will get all the modules available, unlike other companies claim to be open source but they arn't.
Communication
Tracking of communication of internal team and clients was a big challenge for our organization, the way this is handled in ERPNext is so simple and intuitive.
Dynamic Customization
One need not to wait for the application developer to change the layout of screen, add or change new fields in transactions, designing of print formats and layouts, all such stuff is managed dynamically.
Payment Gateways
Using this facility we have noticed an increase of 10% in payment collection from the customer, we use razor pay payment gateway with ERPNext so after creating an invoice one can send payment request to customer and after the customer paid the invoice your account gets updated.

With FOSS projects, its natural to have more support issues, and there is not guarantee of time that when your issue will get addressed.

ErpNext adoption experience
In my case I began to use ErpNext v10 for own purposes and after a time I decided to implement this product for local companies. To do that I has to integrate this solution with the local laws for invoices, human resources, taxes, etc.
Pros
Easy to integrate with other solutions or for creating new modules. For example, in my case I could easily add an IoT solution with ingestion, reporting and analytics.
Cons
Different versions mean a new big mayor release. It means that you'll have to work in a new implementation. This have an important impact in your own repository because database changes cannot be migrated directly to the new versions. Generally a new version changes all the database structure, then so many different scripts have to be constructed to migrate the business data to the new version. And in general the procedures indicated by ErpNext don't work easily.

All modules are not pre build, very complex and tough work to build and integrate with other module, either its documentation is available but still a special dedicated devolper is required to run and customize process, less controlling over transactions. like approvals etc.

A great ERP for an affordable price
Prior to ERPNext, each function within the organization was using its own tools and Excel sheet to operate. But with this ERP, we were able to get the org connected and functions interconnected and increase our efficiencies.
Pros
Since it's open source, the documentation on their website is very detailed that helped us implement and troubleshoot problems by ourselves.
The UI/UX was great and the speed at which we were able to navigate throughout the system.
Cons
While there are a lot of integrations, we need more integrations with our logistic partners. The Frappe Cloud Marketplace is a great initiative.

One of the most customisable ERP in the market
We needed an ERP that can be molded to our needs and to our customers' needs. After searching for dozens of alternatives, I conclude that ERPNext is the only software that can do that. The open source nature and well written architecture are the reasons that full customisations are possible.
Pros
Very-very customisable to suit the needs of the business.
Great integration with other software through API.
One of the easiest ERP to use.
Great flexible reporting options. We can create custom reports on the fly.
Runs on reputable cloud providers. Can be set up with a minimal infrastructure budget to start with.
Cons
Installation can be confusing for first timers. It was not a big problem for us as we are software development company, there was enough information from the community.
