Developed by scientists at the University of Bonn in collaboration with logistics experts at DHL, Greenplan’s routing algorithm leverages hard data on historical traffic flows, fleet capacities, and time-of-day-dependent factors to mathematically derive the most efficient routes for distribution. Greenplan Consulting: Our expert analysis of what-if scenarios for optimal fleet mix, depot-customer allocation, overlapping districts, site analysis, fair cost allocation, and more. 


Greenplan Execution: Live tracking and ad-hoc management frontend for transparent and agile execution, with ETA updates every 30 seconds. 


Greenplan offers a comprehensive solution for optimizing delivery routes, minimizing wait times, and achieving maximum efficiency while reducing fuel consumption, emissions, and vehicle wear and tear. The algorithm uses real-time traffic data and time-of-day-dependent traffic flow speeds to calculate precise estimated time of arrival (ETA) for each delivery. 


The three approaches to route planning are fixed districts, overlapping districts, and dynamic planning, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Fixed districts provide optimal handling times, however, they come with costly disadvantages because of longer driving times and more vehicles on the road. Here, our award-winning solution of overlapping districts offers an optimal compromise between customer and route-dependent handling times and ideal journey times. Dynamic planning allows for the efficient utilization of a fleet's loading capacity, resulting in punctual deliveries, the shortest route in each case, and fully automated assignment of orders to tours.
