They are quick to take your money but not tell you how to save money > > **Cons**: I have been a long-time customer of Heartland Payment Systems, using both their payroll and merchant services for over ten years across two companies In October 2024, One Company officially went out of business and was closed with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. At that time, I canceled my payroll services after the year-end processing and also canceled my merchant credit card processing account for that company. Despite the business closure, Heartland continued billing me for merchant services — over $300 per month — even though the account was inactive and no credit card transactions occurred. When I contacted Heartland for assistance, I was told they could not locate my account due to a misspelled name, and I was given no resolution. Once the found it I was basically told it was too bad so sad. It defies logic that a business would cancel payroll, close its ROC license, and stop operations — yet continue to pay for unused merchant processing services for an entire year. > > It's horrible the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
