About LatitudeLearning

LatitudeLearning LMS is built specifically to manage extended enterprise training programs — the way you want. Elegantly deliver quality training across any channel of your extended network — employees, partners, dealers, and customers. The system is based on four principles that are foundational to a high-impact training program: Managing Knowledge: The ability to deliver courses, using seven different course modalities, to each unique training group or job function in your partner networks. Simplifying onboarding of staff and team members, personalizing training based on job function(s), managing career development and growth for individuals, and delivering training at the point of need. Managing Skills: To be an effective team member goes beyond the completion of a couple of classes. In extended enterprise and partner networks, there are clearly defined paths for partners to grow from level 1 – master. Those rules are always evolving and ever changing the LatitudeLearning LMS helps manage that complexity. This includes the ability to manage complex skill paths based on job requirements, the ability to certify individuals, the ability to define staffing and skill mix requirements by organization types, and the ability to certify locations and managers as the maintain their training and skill levels across their teams. Delivering Business Impact: All partner networks have established performance metrics that usually stand independently from the training programs that are driving them. We believe it is important that training programs bring those measurements into the training objectives and measurements for their participants. This includes individual performance metrics like Customer Satisfaction, Fixed Right First Time, Units Sold, Parts Sold, Repair Orders completed and more. It also includes management and organizational level metrics that are used to ensure partners are performing at the desired level and to differentiate between high performing and low performing entities as needed and address the issues as they arise. Managing training at Scale: Partner training programs are complex by nature, and the partners and organizations want some autonomy in meeting those requirements. The LMS is designed to allow for the central definition of what it means to be trained and certified in the network, but it can also be configured to allow partners to manage their own training within the context of the central objectives. LatitudeLearning understands the frustrations that come with complex skills-based training programs. Our team is your team, tailoring your high-impact training programs to be elegantly managed. Why struggle with an LMS software that can’t accommodate your unique training objectives? Deliver a skills-based training program with less effort, and achieve your individual, team, and organization level target outcomes.

I am a one person training department who relies heavily on Latitude learning to help me.

OSHA compliance and tracking. New employee on-boarding. Monthly safety training. I do all of this with the help of Latitude learning.

Pros

It works. My learners like to use the system and the training. Your support people are the best. They are always willing to answer a question and help out.

Cons

I have looked at the Captivate LMS and like the visual graphic interface. It is difficult to (for me) change my certification curriculum. I would like to see templates of pages to use for my site. I am not a HTML programmer, so making pages easier for me would be better. Possibly the use of an outside tool like DreamWeaver, XD, or other easy to use webpage builder and import a page.

Great if you are getting started

Pros

I have used the free version of this for some time. It is a cost-effective way to publish courses online.

Cons

The out of the box version is ugly. It takes a lot of knowledge and work to make it not look cookie cutter.

Review

Very positive experience. The implementation team has infinite patience.

Pros

latitude was built for business so the implementation team spoke our language in understanding our organization. It allows the client to have control over who and when training occurs but still sets a standard for accreditation.

Cons

Too many steps that our business model did not need, so parts seem redundant. Wish you could turn off some functions and go directly to result. ie. going from role to required courses is too many steps.

Just what we needed!

We didn't have to invest a ton of money to develop a new-hire skills assessment that we only use once in a while, but it's there when we need it.

Pros

There is a great deal of flexibility in the assessment styles. We needed a solution for a pre-hire skills assessment. I used to be a K-12 teacher, and I was looking for something inexpensive to use in my current role in HR, but we didn't want to invest a ton of money into something we wouldn't use very often. This really solved all of our problems.

Cons

The only thing that I feel is missing from this user experience is a way to filter teacher-touch essays and non-auto-graded questions through the grading system. My workaround is to assume those questions are going to be scored incorrectly, and inform the user beforehand that their score will not reflect accurately their skill level.
