> Scanopy is a network discovery and diagramming tool that creates live network topology maps automatically. It is designed for IT teams, managed service providers, and self-hosters who require accurate and up-to-date network documentation. The software addresses challenges such as outdated network diagrams, complex infrastructures, and compliance requirements through automated mapping.

The tool uses a lightweight scanner daemon to discover hosts, services, and subnets within a network. It identifies over 230 services, including Docker, PostgreSQL, and nginx, using protocols such as SNMP, LLDP, CDP, and ARP. It maps both Layer 2 and Layer 3 connections and updates topology diagrams on a scheduled basis. Features include version branching, network state locking, and configuration comparison over time. Diagrams can be exported in formats such as SVG, PNG, PDF, HTML, Mermaid, and Confluence markup. They can also be embedded via iframe or shared through live view links.

The software is built with Rust, Svelte, and TypeScript and supports multi-network management. It allows diagrams to be shared without requiring login credentials. A free, open-source Community Edition is available under the AGPL-3.0 license for self-hosting on private infrastructure.
