> **Pros**: NGO's usability and enterprise-level management of multiple practices for our billing company has allowed us to streamline protocols, improve quality, and manage practices and their operations effectively.  NGO reporting is great if you like and familiar with Excel.  Our team loves it, but it can be a deterrent for some.  PM-wise, the platform is simple to use.  Our registration and front office teams always find learning the workflows for registering a patient, scheduling, changing the schedule, checking in patients, collecting copayments, etc. pretty simple.  EHR-wise is great.  It works well for those who have invested time in developing custom forms, blueprints, care plans, etc.  If you don't, you will truly struggle with not just this platform but any.

> **Cons**: NGO limits other platforms from integrating using API.  All other EHR/PM systems have that open API which enable us to seamlessly access the system and improve our patient experience, office workflow, and modernize our processes.  We struggle to understand why NGO doesn't invest time into pushing this more open, but the "preferred partners" have access.  This can help us love the platform even more as it will alleviate other headaches in our workflow that ModMed, eCW, AdvancedMD, and other big wig systems have.  &#10;&#10;Faxes have been a struggle for many as there seems to be limited to no accountability for the NGO faxing services.  We often find faxes delayed, but NGO support fails to provide any meaningful update during the questionable period.  Then support (like all other support departments) move on because the problem is "fixed".  This is difficult as it happens frequently.  &#10;&#10;Known issues from support seems like a kiss of death and rarely resolved timely.  It is very difficult to explain to key stakeholders for us that NGO support just said it is a problem with know updates of issues.  We are currently dealing with a MIPS and MACRA dashboard reporting issues and that was recently classified as a Known Issue.  I'm hopeful it is resolved with enough time for our clinic to review and prepare for submission date.  The Ideas section in the Success Community seems to be the go to default, but we rarely see any of these ideas accepted irrespective of the voting process.  I feel like it has been the same way over the past 10 years we've been worked with NextGen.&#10;&#10;Ineffective texting and emailing utilization without the required patient portal.  It would be nice to have a way to have patients register, sign documents, etc. by texting documents.  Instead, we are required to post on the portal or create a Document within the platform when they are in the office.  Improving our quest to eliminate paper would be helpful, but the current "out-of-the-box" setup is not going to minimize this too much irrespective of the specialty.  A focus here could be greatly embraced.

It checks the boxes for most of our needs, but there are required workarounds for those that are not ideal workflows.  Like all, there are some exceptional people in each department that make it worth it.

The program is easy to use, intuitive and very fast to document a patient encounter. Their new Ambient Assist AI scribe makes documentation a no brainer. You can put the computer down, turn on the microphone, and focus 100% on the patient. Ambient Assist will create the structured note for you. Their customer support and ongoing commitment to training is excellent.

> **Cons**: NextGen Office has built in patient appointment reminders via text and email, but if you want more robust patient messaging you need to use a 3rd party app. That app works well, but it would be nice to have that as a native app.
