Stocksmith is built for businesses that make what they sell—the product brand, small-batch manufacturer, or growing operation ready to trade spreadsheet chaos for real control over every material, batch, and order.

Who is Stocksmith for?
Stocksmith is made for small-batch product businesses and manufacturers that have outgrown spreadsheets and generic inventory tools—but don't need the cost or complexity of enterprise MRP. You'll feel right at home running a business in food and beverage, cosmetics and skincare, supplements and wellness, home and personal care, or any DTC and wholesale brand producing in batches. If you're managing bills of materials, juggling multiple sales channels, and trying to pin down your true cost per unit, this is for you.

What can you do with Stocksmith?
- Track every raw material, component, and finished product in one place, with live on-hand, committed, and available stock
- Build multi-level bills of materials, then manufacture a batch and watch the right materials deduct automatically—no manual counting
- See your true cost of goods (materials, labor, and overhead) and the real margin on every product and every order
- Sync orders from Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, Faire, and more—and push updated stock back to your channels so you never oversell
- Track suppliers, purchase orders, and reorder points so production never stalls waiting on a missing material
- Record every batch with full lot traceability, ready for audits, recalls, and compliance
- Generate COGS, profitability, inventory, and tax reports from the data you already capture

Why product businesses choose Stocksmith
Most inventory tools treat your stock as things to count. Stocksmith treats it as materials to transform—the difference between "I sell things" and "I manufacture things." ## Reviews

### "Exactly what I was looking for in an inventory management software\!" — 5.0/5

> **Janice** | *3 August 2025* | Health, Wellness & Fitness | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: I love Craftybase because it is so easy to get started. They offer a 2-week free trial, which is basically the amount of time it took to get most of my materials and products entered. It integrates with many other software programs so it is that much easier to keep track of inventory. The pricing is reasonable, and if you can't find your answer in their chat bot, an email will get you a friendly person responding to you within 2 business days usually. They have made some updates on the look of the site, which was much needed, and they are very open to hearing your suggestions on how to make the program work better for you. I have not had many problems with the program, and the few that I have had were handled very well by the customer service department.
>
> **Cons**: There are a few things that I would like to have as options on the site, but they are very minor (such as: drop-downs for categories, etc) It would also be nice to have the price charged in CAD, but again, a minor thing.
>
> Overall, Craftybase is exactly what I was looking for when I was wanting to track my inventory and products, and I love that I can set different levels of pricing and see what my profit margin is.

### "Craftybase saves me lots of time to manage my jewelry business" — 5.0/5

> **Maria Luisa** | *1 August 2025* | Arts & Crafts | Recommendation rating: 3.0/10
>
> **Pros**: What I like the most about Craftybase are three things: their staff and costumer service, their friendly environment, and how everything is connected in the design of their platform. I had found answers to all of my questions along the way and whenever I needed to resolve bugs and issues their staff where very happy and quickly to help\!
>
> **Cons**: The only thing I like least about Craftybase is that their basic subscription had less and less basic features with the time.
>
> I had been using Craftybase for more than 8 years. It was very easy to learn in the beginning and to make the transition from excel to their platform. Using Craftybase is really worth the money paid, it has saved me a lot of time to managing my inventory, generating quotes for custom products, and reordering materials for big orders. So I can invest more time in the creative part of my business thanks to Craftybase\!. I know my info is secure with Craftybase and that I’m in good hands.

### "A must-have for handmade businesses\!" — 5.0/5

> **Samantha** | *30 June 2025* | Arts & Crafts | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: It still is invaluable for keeping track of my materials, products, orders, and formulas, and basic financial reports. If you have a handmade business and need to keep track of a million moving parts, you need Craftybase\!
>
> **Cons**: Cost has gone up quite a bit and subscription level is based on how many items you sell, but I really do think the value it brings to my business justifies the expense. I support the \[sensitive content hidden\] doing whatever they need to keep the site afloat, and they do seem to be actively improving the functionality of the software to justify the added expense.
>
> It integrates seamlessly with Etsy, the platform I sell on. I use it every single day and could not function without it.

### "Fabulous for Handcrafted Manufacturers" — 5.0/5

> **Michelle** | *4 March 2026* | Cosmetics | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Crafty base has allowed me to get a handle on the 130 different product mixes that I currently stock on several selling platforms. At a glance I can see my inventory stock levels. Craftybase has also simplified my gross margin and I now know if my pricing is correct on our products. Customer service is excellent and quick to respond to questions.
>
> **Cons**: Craftybase needs to increase the platforms that they sync. Our Ecwid and Tik Tok sites currently don't sync which means that I have to manually enter all orders. Set up was tedious and I would encourage more onboarding tutorials to eliminate a lot of wasted input hours.
>
> Overall, Craftybase has performed well for our handcrafted goat milk soap and lotion. I'm pleased with their program, customer service and time saving elements of this platform.

### "Small Maker Business in the Real World" — 4.0/5

> **Karin** | *2 August 2025* | Arts & Crafts | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: As a small maker business, this is easy to use and set up. I love the manual and prompts for inventory. I tried other programs that cost monthly and this is easier and overall cost is scalable.
>
> **Cons**: Set up was from the beginning. My spreadsheets and other programs didn't translate well. If I use scraps or left overs there is no tracking.
>
> I finally have a program that I don't dread doing my paperwork and helps at tax time with the reports
